About to watch the rematch. Austin vs Benoit - SD! 5/31/01 .

An astonishing year for both wrestlers.

This just in: anguyen is sensitive about Benoit censorship jokes.

Yes, I am. I know its something to get all riled up from but still, I'm just a huge mark for Benoit stuff. All right go ahead, take your shots against me.

I think that you're failing to get that the jokes are being made about the people censoring him and the practices that they engage in, not about people who actually prop up Benoit's body of work.

100% agree. One of the best matches of all time was Benoit/Angle from 03 Rumble. I think it is horrible that a man that gave so much to this business has to be wiped away due to one bad mistake at the end of his life, especially when it was shown that he had lost his faculties due to taking all those bumps.

There was a WM 20 pic going around that I thought was really funny with him shopped out of the main event. but for the life of me I can not find it.

Watched the War Games from 92 which got 5* from Meltzer. It's very enjoyable but I don't see what makes it such a great match. I'd give it like 3.5-4.

Also watched Angle vs Austin from SSlam 01 which is an intense brawl with a great ending. Saw people on another forum pimping Hansen vs Andre from 9/23/81 and that is a very good match/fight. Vader vs Sting in a Strap match from SuperBrawl 93 was f'n awesome as well.

I liked the concept of War games, but That match doesn't really hit all my ***** requirements. If I remember, i think I gave it 4* when i was debating it.

Angle austin was great, never saw Vader vs sting.

I'd go back and check out every Shane McMahon PPV match, it is surprising what kinds of spots he did.

I remember watching his match vs Test live from some SummerSlam and thought it was amazing. Still haven't seen his KotR match vs Angle but will probably check it out tonight since I'm reminded now .

I love the Kurt Angle-Shane McMahon kotr match. Shane takes some crazy bumps in that match and I cringe every time Angle tries to suplex him through the glass.

Finally watched Shane vs Angle and that lived up to one Kurt's "I's", intensity. You can feel the hate coming from these guys. Shane busting out the shooting star press was great and the angle slam from the top was jaw dropping. Awesome match and I never thought it could have been that good.

I agree. You think? "Shane? you mean Vince's son???" but my god could he bump.

I'm watching a match that Regal has suggested on his twitter/blog for those that are aspiring to work on their technical wrestling skills.

Watched quite a few matches yesterday when my internet died...

CM Punk vs Samoa Joe part 2: highly regarded as one of the best matches of the 2000s and deservedly so. They put on quite a show all the while Punk whispers sweet nothings into Joe's ear in rest holds.

Bret Hart vs Mr. Perfect from Summerslam 91. One of the more underrated matches around. To me this is the perfect match and shows how a match should be worked. Also the commentary is incredible with Monsoon, Heenan, and Piper. Cannot find youtube link for this match, it is probably on dailymotion though.

Misawa/Kobashi vs Kawada/Taue on 5/21/94. Two weeks before the famous 6/3/94 Kawada vs Misawa match Kawada and Taue go after Misawa and Kobashi's tag titles. It's not their 6/9/95 match but this also rightfully received 5*.

Not only is Hart-Perfect amazing, but Perfect's back was royally ****ed up at the time and he fought through it like an absolute champ.

Like...Austin v. HBK at WM XIV was pretty weak compared to what it could have been if Shawn was healthy, and nobody could reasonably criticize it because they did what they could given the physical limitations. In a similar situation though, Perfect went out and worked a five-star classic. Really unfortunate that injuries interrupted his career so badly, because even though he was a headline HOFer, it really seems like he could have been regarded in the absolutely elite stratosphere of all-time wrestlers if he had been able to stay healthy.

I remember as a kid thinking this was just a throwaway match for Perfect because Hart was not established as a singles guy. This was the ppv after WM VII where him and Anvil lost to the Nasties. Was a shocker at the time.

Lots of people on other forums think their match at 93 KotR was better.
part 1
Part 2

I think SS 91 was better.

I think the difference in the quality of the two is negligible and that both are awesome. I just wish Hennig had gone over him once.

Well after reading the Stone Cold Truth and reading all the events that has happened to Austin the last few days before WM 19, makes me want to watch Rock/Austin WM 19

I'm not sure what was more surprising, the fact that this match exists or Ernest Miller being a WWE commentator

watching a Lesnar pack I've had d/l'ed for a while...

Lesnar vs Jeff Hardy in his first official match @ Backlash '02. At 9:52 he delivers one of the sickest powerbombs ever.

Lesnar vs Matt and Jeff @ Judgement Day '02. Fine for what it was.

Lesnar vs Test - KotR '02 semifinal. wow this was bad. this is close to minus stars

Lesnar vs RVD - KotR '02 finals. not bad for a 6 minute squash match.

Isolated please don't watch any more matches containing Test. It blackens your character.

Watching some Verne Gagne Vs Red Bastien from the 50s in the light of Reds passing last night. Red had one of the best flying headscissors that I've ever seen, especially for someone in the 50s and someone who was hitting 210lbs at the time also!
