FWIW I would agree that they should only rarely happen on things like major PPVs, but weekly TV and minor PPVs are (purportedly) about building toward those anyway. A run-in schmozz is also a draw that can have use. It's not like a distraction roll-up is significantly more satisfying.

I do recall loving that Hennig-Bockwinkel match. I think there are circumstances draws can be useful in this day and age so I guess I agree with you but I think those are few and far between compared to the older days. I like the idea of using it in round robin tournaments (say, G1 and the like). Once that match is over I know that it had a point: One person fighting to get two points while alone tries to hold on for one. Having them in title matches promoted for PPV with weeks long build up seems awful to me though. Feels like a bait and switch where you pay money to get it on the network or ppv and learn that "nobody wins the end" and it leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

and fwiw, the one time they did do a draw, it was a 1-2-3 Kid/Razor situation where the young kid came off like a real fighter vs. Cody and it was great.

If you mean just having time limits for things like Rusev vs Corbin continuing as monday night raw rolls along, I'm actually more on board with that. Which, in retrospect, seems obvious given the context but with it being AEW and the first thing coming to my mind being a KO draw that legitimately made me feel like watching NJPW was a waste of my time I focused on that aspect.

The Okada/Omega draw was part of the story line though. 50 minute match at Wrestle Kingdom where Kenny came up short. Draw in the next match. 2/3 falls 1h8m match where Kenny wins the big one. The booking was solid but I didn't enjoy all that much outside of the first match.

Yeah, I haven't switched from NXT since tuning in so I was unaware of that AEW context myself.

I also think that time-limit draws have the ability to add drama to other situations like Flair-Steamboat where it looks like it's headed to time-limit draw and then suddenly boom last-second pinfall.

I did like the way more athletic wrestling despite a few botches and a few people that kinda aren't ready yet for this level of exposure.

Some spots outside of it are way rougher than say an avg raw though.

I thought this show needed to hit a homerun though and it really wasn't close to that.

I also laughed really hard, but only because they said Jake Hager. I thought that was a corny fake play on his WWE ring name. I had no idea that was his IRL name lol.

That spot didn't look good with Swagger Hager to Dustin Rhodes when the table don't break that is a bad sign.

Hopefully Dustin is alright you could even see Hager go down and looked like he whispered probably asking if Dustin was ok.

I caught the last 10 minutes but I was entertained by the motors some of these guys have. Sound seemed off for the entrances and hearing the crowd when that stuff can help to bring you in as a viewer. What were they chanting at the end?

I feel like the rule for this head-to-head should be that you have to change the channel if the crowd starts chanting the company's/brand's name.
