She just reported to the PC a couple weeks ago. I'm curious what they do with her. They are trying to beat AEW in the male 18-49 demo so I'm sure they'll find something...

The MJF promo is great. I still sort of wish they stretched out his story with Cody longer, but it was a good way to make him a hated heel instead of a cool funny heel.

The top tier mic guys in AEW really thrive with these crowds and the more loose atmosphere. It's so much more fun to watch than WWE's promo segments.

AEW was 5th in the ratings (18-49) behind just 2 NBA games, South Park, and American Horror Story. Not bad! Overall AEWs audience increased 16% to 957,000 viewers while NXT dropped 8% to 750,000 viewers. NXT was 22nd in the ratings but overall I think this was still a pretty solid showing for them.

I feel bad for the 750,000 people that chose to watch NXT over AEW. Hopefully ya'll are recording AEW and watching it later because otherwise you are only hurting yourself.

Just came here to post that the AEW ratings were more positive this week.

Probably going to be avoiding this thread until I can watch both shows, but as much as I generally hate go home shows, NXT tonight seems like it might be an exception. Really hope they can deliver.

Also, doesn't belong in this thread, but not sure where it belongs at this point. Been watching some Impact since moving over to AXS. Some of the stuff is really silly and I'm still not sure I'm totally on board with the Tessa intergender stuff, but she's making it really hard. She may be the best right now. Really good #1 contender gauntlet last night where they were able to make several people really look good.

Impact also advertised and 80s throwback studio type of shot next week. Kind of like the Southpaw skits on the network.

That was a decent women's match but the wrong wrestler won. Much better chance getting Baker over in that division than Shida IMO.

I think this Dynamite ring prize could be kind of interesting if, say, once a month or so they do this Dynamite Dozen battle royal and the winner faces the ring holder. I have no idea if that's the plan though.

This is a pretty good lineup for the match, too.

Aside from booking Billy Gunn like Andre the Giant, both shows were really good again tonight.

That's my full analysis.

at first I was like "are you f'ing serious billy gunn?" but this show needed professional talent :/ Too many guys on this roster aren't ready for national TV.

It did not need to push gunn to the moon though.

Thought NXT was really good tonight. Riddle is really good even though it took me a while to get over his whole look/character enough to take him seriously. Ricochet dive was sick. Tag match was A+++. Idk where that Revival has been for the last few years. Even when they got time to wrestle they weren't doing anything with it. That was probably a top 3 TV match of the year. Whole end sequence was done well even if it was just a massive brawl.

Wasn't really on board with AEW this week. Britt Baker seems very not good. It's 2019 and Billy Gunn was running wild on a bunch of people. Also it was jarring to see him just tower over the vast majority of the roster in that match. Moxley doesn't really do it for me and Darby hasn't left a positive impression in the few matches I've seen him in so their match was something that I'll just chalk up as not being for me. I think the general love Ambrose/Moxley has gotten over the years since branching out on his own outside of the shield will forever be one of the great wrestling mysteries to me. Quite a few botches throughout the night too. Hopefully next week is better. I'm optimistic because I think I saw Omega/Pac 2 is happening? Those are the people that should be carrying the show because they're really, really good and I expect them to have a killer match.

Definitely a big NXT win this week for me though.

I never thought of Billy Gunn as a monster. When he was in DX he was just one of the guys. It was in this segment that it finally dawned on me that AEW wrestlers are much smaller than WWE wrestlers (on avg). My first reaction was WTF are they doing making all these AEW guys look bad.

After giving it some thought I realized this size difference is a great opportunity for AEW. The average viewer can't tell how tall someone is on TV. However, they can discern relative size. Take Jack Swagger. Dude is a humongous human being and an athletic freak. However, he wasn't that special in the WWE. Often times, he was just one of the guys. Now he comes over to the AEW and he is a monster. Hell, from what I've seen he's the biggest guy on the roster. He's something special but it's not because of his absolute size, but rather his size relative to the rest of the roster. This is a big deal when you consider other WWE guys that may move to AEW. Small guys have a better chance at being main eventers and bigger guys, even some regular sized WWE guys, can stand out as huge physical specimens.

I think that's an interesting viewpoint. You're not wrong that it's easier for smaller guys to be taken seriously by the general public when they aren't being asked to go toe to toe with Braun Strowman at 5'10 lol.

It was fun to see NXT try to work with the main roster's convoluted Survivor Series nonsense. I am a little burned out on chaotic brawls and invasions but it was a pretty fun show to watch. Very curious to see the ratings this week because they sure played a lot of cards.

Also, very smart of them to give Dakota Kai a losing streak gimmick so she can put over 5000 different people across WWE's brands in the build to Survivor Series.

Will maybe watch AEW tomorrow, idk.
