Lots of shenanigans involving using the belt as a weapon until it eventually ends with a DQ against flair.

NWO konnan and Virgil come out to get perfect.

Cut to a backstage segment for www.wcwwrestling.com where Macho is giving an interview for more audio for fans to download at 56k.

Now we're back to mean Gene on the main entrance set with JJ Dillon saying "I don't care what he says, Hogan must pose!"

No wait. He says Hogan must wrestle inside the steel cage vs Piper as advertised!

Bischoff comes out to say nope, Hogan isn't wrestling. Dillon says the document is signed, and as a dunk, mentions it's notarized. lol.

Bischoff keeps mentioning that Dillon doesn't have the stroke to force this.

Whatever.

Next match has special ref Larry Zbasko.

Out first is NWO Scott Hall with Six. He stops on the entrance ramp to watch the highlights of his moves they show on the screen on stage. That's a great small thing.

Opponent is lex Luger.
I was gonna pause it, but the vodka cranberry has fueled me. It's like I'm in the blackjack pit at the bellagio and
Just need to tough out a few more hands.

Is x-pac 6 because 1+2+3=6 ?

Match is okay so far, I guess. As expected scott hall is awesome and lex Luger is lame.

I checked twitter a lot during this match.

Bischoff comes down for some reason, the special ref kicks him and the crowd goes nuts.

This crowd LOVES everything. It's he opposite of a modern day WWE crowd.

Six kicks Luger in the head as he goes for the torture rack, then Hall hits the razors edge for the win.

Afterwards Hall makes the ref raise his hand.

The little stuff like that is what makes him so great.

Loved Hall, no memories of the actual match though.

Wait- special ref calls for a tv replay of the finish, sees it, and then demands Hall get back in the ring.

Luger hits the torture rack right away and they ring the bell.

Six jumps in and the ref Larry Zbasko chokes him out.

Then Hall and Bischoff beat up Larry.

This stuff is like a monkey at a typewriter- no rhyme or reason as to what happens.

Oh snap. Now we have a LAS VEGAS SUDDEN DEATH MATCH (?) between DDP and NWO Macho Man.

I assume some shenanigans will ensue between liz and Kimberly.

Some kid in the crowd had an old wwf hulk hogan wrestling buddy that he dressed up in NWO clothing. Nice.

DDP out with fake music dubbed over his real stuff. The dub is awful in choice, but fine in quality of hiding what they did.

Wait- no Kimberly present.

This is back when DDP wrestled in jeans and athletic tape over his ribs.

It says there's 45 minutes left.

I gotta call it for now. Gonna watch an old VH1 I Love the 80s or something. I'm tapping.

I'll be back faithful reader(s) at some point to finish this prior to Halloween.

SERIOUSLY? People really wanted Piper vs Hogan in 1997? In a time period where, even though Nitro was winning the ratings war, in the WWF front, you had Austin heating up almost to his point of reaching superstar godmode in the wrestling world and Bret and Shawn was at the boiling part in their rivalry (especially in a personal level).

I mean, sure, there's was a lot of crap in WWF in 1997, but sometimes we have to go through a lot of crap to see something reach its pinnacle whether it is a wrestler or a bitter rivalry.

It's crazy to me that while hogan vs Piper in 97 sounds so so lame, they're giving us Shawn Michaels and HHH vs Kane and the Undertaker in 2018.

Something never change, I guess.

Macho vs DDP in front of a bored crowd. Both in the arena and in my den.

Of note: Raven and the flock are still in their seats from the beginning of the show.

I don't know if this match is good or bad, I only know I'm bored.

Savage just hit the top rope elbow onto DDP, who has been wrestling with his ribs taped. Feels like if a guy hits an all-time finisher on your already injured ribs, it should end.

But no.

Sting walked to the right and hit DDP in the ribs with the bat and walked off.

Announcers saying they don't think that was the real sting.

I'm still bored. But at least in no condition to drive.

DDP fails to get back in the ring after the sting bat hit, Macho wins by count out.

Yawn.

I forgot. This was a Las Vegas sudden death match.

Thank goodness for that stipulation, whatever it means.
