I've mentioned it before, but them having a reverse angle camera set up behind the window for the last shot of HBK throwing him through the window is completely absurd in kayfabe.

Any more absurd than this?

Well that's pretty stupid too, but you can at least understand why the cameras are backstage following wrestlers around.

Spoiler:

The Debut of The Gobbeldy Gooker!

I can't believe this debut fell behind The Undertaker's Survivor Series debut, as there was never more excitement for a debut than this debut! Debut debut debut! Also, we got Mean Gene Okerlund dancing, which in itself is a great moment in WWE history.

My third-round pick:

In September 1993, Vince McMahon and the WWF stripped Shawn Michaels of the Intercontinental title. Michaels then "quit" the company in protest (all of this being a cover for an alleged positive steroids test by Michaels). To fill the vacancy, a 20-man battle royal was held on RAW, with the last two men meeting the following week to decide the title. Razor Ramon and Rick Martel survived, then Razor beat Martel to taste WWF gold for the very first time.

Upon Michaels' return, he continued to promote himself as the IC champ, going so far as to wear a "bogus" belt. He even interfered (unsuccessfully) in the Razor/IRS match at the '94 Rumble. After Razor held onto his belt, it was clear that a Razor-Michaels matchup was in the near future.

The matchup was historical in that it was the first Ladder Match in WrestleMania history. Dave Meltzer gave the match five stars. It won PWI's "Match of the Year" for 1994, and at the time, was one of the top matches in WrestleMania history. And it finally provided closure as the current champion bested the former one in an all-time classic.

With my third pick, I select:

Spoiler:
March 20, 1994 - New York, NY (Madison Square Garden)
Razor Ramon beats Shawn Michaels in a Ladder Match to become the undisputed Intercontinental Champion

Mehhhh...not really a "moment" as defined in the OP.

To be clear I'm basically not going to disallow anything, the pick stands and I'll let the market sort it out, but when I put this in the OP...

Quote:
as a guideline, just use: an entire match is generally not what a "moment" is for purposes of this draft.
...as a fellow competitor in this I won't give much credit to that pick.

(Still a sick match obviously.)

Understood. I had it in my head that silvio drafted the 1992 Royal Rumble (which I now know he didn't), so I thought entire matches were acceptable.

Please make my pick the moment Razor grabs both belts and falls to the mat.

Fair enough, changed it on the spreadsheet.

I was between two choices - took it for that very reason. My other pick will probably still be there at the end of round 4.

Not that it necessarily applies to that pick, but we should remember to be careful how much backstory we're giving in case they include other "moments."

Having picked the Montreal Screwjob and Foley getting launched off Hell in a Cell with my first two picks, I wanted to include a second iconic bump that helped to define the Attitude Era:

In the 3rd Round of the Greatest Moments Draft, I select:

Spoiler:
Edge Spears Jeff Hardy Off A 20 Foot Ladder, Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the WWE Tag Team Championship at Wrestlemania X-Seven

Spoiler:

This moment really crystalizes for me why the Dudley/E&C/Hardy Boyz rivalry was so great: It showed the literal "heights" the tag team championship division could reach, which stands in stark contrast to tag wrestling's mediocre last decade, where power teams like Deuce & Domino, David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty, and Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater reigned over the division, and tag team "main events" only existed when hastily thrown together by Holeonaminnut Playa Teddy Long.

I was down to this and the Edge spear when I picked. Taker's eyes tell the GOAT story after that kickout. Wonderful pick.

Since Dylan got skipped last time he's on a three-hour clock instead of the standard four. Silviodante will be up at 11:00a EST.

The GOAT being the first person ever to enter number 1 and win the Royal Rumble. Not only does it have the historical aspect, but it has the greatest false finish in rumble history, and one of the greatest spots in rumble history when HBK skinned the cat for the first time.

Meltzer is not immune to flat tires. He gets some ratings just horribly wrong. Negative five stars for Hogan/Andre is absurd.

Two picks, Judy.

As to this pick, it was okay but not a top moment for me. It was just super obvious that it was coming after a slow build. Think it would have been better for them to pull the trigger on something like that while it would still be shocking.
