It's 12-11 in favor of Savage/Steamboat.

EDIT: err, 12-10. Savage/Steamboat is at the right number until something else weird happens, because you subtract one for an invalid vote and add one for eyebooger. Then you subtract from Cena/Punk for eyebooger misclick.

if not what is? one night stand (ill admit that was also amazing)

im gonna watch savage/steamboat soon and feel like there is a very good chance ill be voting for it.

i think that in a 'greatest wrestling match' competition in ring work has to be more important than fans, build and atmostphere. just my personal voting criteria. and while watching punk/cena is the most enjoyment ive ever got from a wrestling match, it technically wasnt that amazing (at least in terms of being a top 10 ever or anything like that)

Oh FFS, another lurker vote. Invalidate another for Savage/Steamboat.

Though now that I think about it, that works pretty well. The real score right now is 13-10 but shows as 14-11. At least we're showing an accurate margin now.

I'm not going to lie, I haven't really participated in this tournament. But the fact that Punk vs Cena made it this far is kinda silly. Sure, it was the end result of probably the best storyline in 2011, but to make it to the top 8 matches of all time, I don't think so.

just because u make the elite8 does not mean that the match is top8 all time. does no one get how tournaments work?

My mind says Savage/Steamboat. On paper I think it's the easy pick.

But I remember how I felt after MiTB. Call it recency bias or whatever, but my heart says Cena/Punk. And that's how I'm voting.

Voted for Savage/Steamboat

I love the Punk/Cena match, but Savage/Steamboat is so watchable, so amazing, I'm pretty sure I could show it to even a non-wrestling fan and they would enjoy it. I'm not sure Punk/Cena is at that level.

It's relatively close though

The weirdest part of this thread has been the slow realization that this wasn't just a bunch of people trolling, but that there really were a significant chunk of people who sincerely thought that Punk/Cena was better and more deserving of a vote.

On one hand, that's completely and utterly bat**** crazy to me. On the other, I'm less annoyed because I really thought that trolling the contest was an irritating thing to do (I know, I know, get a sense of humor etc).

Anyway, the contest has worked out nicely and it appears that we're heading for a great and very deserving group of matches for our final four.
