Your tournament bracket for WBM's greatest wrestling matches of all time.

A quick rundown:

1. Now that we're in the Elite Eight and there are a manageable number of matchups remaining, each matchup will get its own thread.

2. Voting windows will be 48 hours. I will post one matchup per day.

2. Voters must have 100 posts on 2p2 (these posts can be on any forum; whatever. I just don't want gimmicks swinging the vote is all). These polls will be public, and if I see unfamiliar names I'll check them out to see if they're legit.

3. Voters are strongly asked to have watched both matches at least at some point before casting a vote. These matches are all awesome, so I'm not asking you to do something that sucks.

4. Advocacy for the side you take is perfectly welcome and even encouraged. And if the occasional hot Alison Brie gif slips in, I don't think that will hurt anyone either.

5. I will just post the links to the videos in my write-ups, because (a) too many embeds slows page-loading down for lots of people and (b) some matches are only available on DailyMotion, and I'm not sure that those can be embedded.

That's right...Bret v. Austin has yet to surrender a single vote against it.

Bret Hart, a big-time babyface for the last decade in the WWF, was losing popularity while Steve Austin was gaining it. A star was officially born in this one as there was absolutely no better way to launch Austin all the way to the top of the company. The match is great, the story-telling is brilliant, and this is one of the finest matches of either of their Hall of Fame careers.

Defeated Flair v. Steamboat (Chi-town Rumble) in OT, 9-8
Defeated HHH v. Benoit v. HBK (WM XX), 11-7

After being favored in the first round, Bret v. Bulldog assumed the role of underdog, and it has been a giant-killer.

The British Bulldog was granted a shot at the Intercontinental Title, and for the first time the brother-in-law relationship between Bret Hart and himself was talked about on-screen. It was a friendly feud, but they still did the whole “this is tearing Diana Hart apart” thing due to her husband and brother going at it.

This, undoubtedly due in large part to the event being held at Wembley Stadium, was actually the main event of the PPV despite it only being the Intercontinental Title match. The WWF Title match, Savage vs. Warrior, was held earlier in the card. Location regardless, it’s a high compliment to just how big this match was and just how important the IC belt was back then. The match obviously delivered as well; just watch it.

We start off with an easy one. Bret/Austin was destined for the Final Four all along.

Yeah, I've been randomizing the schedule each round, but decided to set the order this round so that we wouldn't bunch together the blowouts and the harder-fought ones. Figured I'd set it on a schedule of easy-hard-easy-hard, culminating in what strikes me as the strongest matchup of the round.

Bret/Austin, easy.

I do loooooove the Bret/Bulldog matchup, but this is a pretty heavy no-brainer. I'm going to watch both matches once again, but clearly my vote is for Bret/Austin.

Bret/Austin should win the whole damn thing. Easy vote.

As much love as I have for Bret/Austin, I'm pretty sure that I'm voting for the winner of Bret/Owen v. Flair/Steamboat next round over it.

I'm all for increased voting/participation in this, but if you don't meet that 100 vote barrier you have to ask and be granted permission first.

Other than Punk/Cena, Bret/Austin is probably the best match in the tournament.

Come on, Punk/Cena has become the Sanjaya of this contest. Obviously at some point it runs out of funny and you just have to vote the worthier contestants through.

I'm pretty sure the only argument for voting Punk/Cena against Savage/Steamboat would be "hee hee, it's so funny to keep voting for this." Or perhaps Happy Gilmore's "But she's so old! Look at how old she is! She's...old!"

I can't wait for Punk/Cena and Taker/HBK to face-off next round.

I've been on the Hart/Bulldog wagon the whole way, it was my favorite match for a long long time ... but it's not as good as Bret/Austin in any way imaginable (other than maybe a bigger, slightly hotter crowd).

I wasn't planning on using the same semi-mercy rule in which I throw up another match because the currently running one is too much of a blowout for it to matter, I meant to give every match its day of spotlight this round, but I'm rethinking that in light of just how much of a no-contest this one is.

I say get another match up now and then all four ties will be up over the weekend at some point giving more people chance to vote hopefully. I can really see the possibility of the Semis not having a Flair/Steamboat match in it and you're head exploding if that happens.

Well, for what it's worth, Bret/Owen beating Flair/Steamboat wouldn't make my head explode. I might even vote for that result. I've gone back and forth in my head about it already and am pretty undecided. Those honestly might be my two favorite matches left in this competition.

Hart/Austin just smashing people...not one vote against it in any round. Absurd

Pretty sure the only bad thing about Bret/Austin is during SCSA's entrance when Vince gives his "LISTEN TO THIS CROWD!!!! LISTEN TO THIS REACTION!!!" and then they pipe in one mic that sounds like its in a section of 15 people just kind of randomly cheering. There's zero reaction on the main mics.

If i vote for it my argument will be "I enjoy watching punk-cena more"
