Wrestlemania V for me. Will forever love the Mega Powers explosion angle.

I saw the WM12 Iron Man match on the big screen at Sask Place with Big Wally, but after that the first PPV I remember begging my Dad to rent was probably Wrestlemania 2000.

LKJ, we should make it mandatory to do a playlist and have a 3-5 man panel rate the cards. Obviously people not in the draft

I think having everyone in the draft voting while excluding their own card accomplishes the same thing.

Is it really that big of a deal where people would do that? Just vote for your top 3 favorite cards.

That was my 2nd ever PPV, the first being WM7. I was 4 years old at the time, damn they hooked me early. I swear at that age all I cared about was wrestling and Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.

+1.

People who would game something like this in that way should commence swallowing rusty nails.

You have to give the crowd a chance to cool down. There's a reason WWE has divas matches so high.

For the non-technologically-inclined among us, perhaps someone would be kind and set up a playlist if I can provide the youtube links?

All you have to do is create a youtube account. Then make the playlist. when you go to the videos you click and put it in the playlist. If I can do it than you can

The first ppv Channel 4 had was Royal Rumble 2000, and they showed commercials during the live ppv haha, during the rumble and everything, lol C4. After that they showed them on an hour delay then lost their deal a year or so later.

I started watching late 91 and think I saw Survivor Seiries and This Tuesday in Texas, but the first ppv I clearly remember watching was Royal Rumble 1992.

Also, I may have trouble making a playlist because iirc the Savage/Liz reunion always gets insta taken off YouTube. I'll have a look at it tomorrow.

But yeah, at some point really early a lot of us just stopped taking modern WWE stuff preferring to go completely off piste into classics, indies and foreign.

Also Godfather is ridiculously overrated
If I would've went WWE heavy I'd say half my matches or more would've been from the Smackdown brand 2002-2004

This is a tough card to match.

Sting/Muta
Savage/Stemboat
War Games 1
Hard Times
Eddy/Rey as a opener

I have a good idea of my top three, but I'm waiting for LordCC and Phils playlist.

Ive kept the match order pretty standard as people would expect. The idea is to just build and build and build as each match pushes the line out even further than the one before it.

Dark Match:
Matt Sydal vs Jack Evans (Wrestling Society X 3:21)

Sydal and Evans will do exactly what a dark match should do, they go out there and they fire the crowd the **** up so we start out hot. This card is designed to be the ultimate smarkfest but who doesnt appreciate guys doing 630 splash finishers.

Kurt Angle vs Unknown Opponent (Royal Rumble 2000 3:16) including the preceding promo by Kurt

Another short one as a curtain jerker, but again this is a crowd builder. That NY crowd was hot hot hot and its a wave of excitement i hope to follow throughout the card.

Bret Hart vs Owen Hart (Wrestlemania X 20:21)

My first draft and if i did it again i maybe wouldnt take this, but Hart 2 Hart is just an awesome book end of my main event with old school and new school hyper technical wrestling being demonstrated across an entire generation.

Cena Video Promo

This is the intentional dip in the card, but i think the video is really good and dont care. Piping this video to the crowd is gonna suck, right?

Tables Grudge Match
Cena vs R-Truth (Raw 27th Jun 2011 5:13)

And then giving them this 5 minute Cena vs Truth match is gonna suck even more, right?

Followed by CM Punk Shoot Promo

Oh no he didnt! Boom, crowd won back as they witness the unfolding of history. In theory storyline development should never be on a PPV but when its this damn good that rule falters.

MsChif vs Amazing Kong (SHIMMER vol 9 12:22)

Passion of the Chif is up next. Not the best womens match at all but a completely awesome one that will build off the wave of excitement. End of the day Amazing Kong whatever her name is wherever she is always brings the crowd and this is exactly what womens wrestling should be.

X Division title Triple Threat Match
Daniels(c) vs AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe (Unbreakable 22:25)

In its history TNA got very few things right, but this is one of them. This match synergises with my other mains well with a lot of TNA and ROH crossover talent with all three in the Triple Threat starting out at ROH. Just as how Kong vs MsChif is what women's wrestling should be, the X Div title is why a cruiserweight style title is really important to a company. Its not surprising that most of us drafted a cruiser/X-Div match somewhere.

Main Events:
ROH Tag Team Championship match:
The Briscoe Brothers (c) vs Murder City Machine Guns (Good Times, Great Memories 34:17)

Some call this the best tag team match ever to happen on America soil. Some say its even better than that. There is a rematch that is almost as good a year later btw, but this is just that little bit better. Again, lol at WWE for not having a good tag division, as CM Punk said earlier on my card Vince McMahon is a millionaire who should be a billionaire, but his loss was ROH's gain and here it is in all its glory for you.

Given there are only 7 views of this at the time of writing i know most of you havent watched this yet. Feel ashamed, then watch it now and mark the **** out at what you are seeing.

ROH Championship and ROH Pure Championship Unification match
Bryan Danielson (ROH) vs Nigel McGuinness (Pure) (Unified 25:22)

And finally we will have a winner and a new champion on the card by virtue of the rules of this match. Two of the best in the world doing what they do best produces this silky smooth and completely perfect title unification match. By this point the crowd is majorly amped up so to see the Dragon get taken to the absolute limit by McGuinness including some really sick spots like a crowd dive, McGuinness breaking his head open hardway on the ring post on purpose and a go home sequence that just begs to be instantly rewatched - you should hand in your wrestling fan membership card at the door on the way out if you didnt love this. Then to close the show we have Bryan starting out cutting a heel promo on the crowd but turning it into completely putting over Nigel.

The TN/DW Rumble Card: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL93BD7A428DA7BC1F

Brian Pillman vs. Jushin Liger (c) for the WCW Light Heavyweight Title. This is a great high-energy opening match to start off any card and get our crowd energized for what's to come.

Not Fair for Flair segment -- a brief replay of Heenan, Monsoon, Perfect, and Lord Alfred Hayes discussing the upcoming Rumble on WWF Prime Time. Just a quick reminder of why you're here. As if you didn't know.

Bret Hart vs The Undertaker -- What would a great PPV be without the spectacle of two of the greatest stars of all time going one-on-one? This is the very first time these two have met in the ring, so it gives the viewers something they've never seen before. No title on the line (as that's at stake in the Rumble) -- these guys don't need it. Placed early enough in the card that the Undertaker (in identical costume) can reappear in the Rumble.

Honky Tonk Man (c) vs. ??? for the WWF Intercontinental Title. With Brutus Beefcake taken out (we'll have him on the card later in a non-wrestling role, just to keep him relevant), who would the WWF run out there to extend Honky's record-setting run as the IC champion? Every card needs one great surprise/mark-out moment, and this is ours. Listen to the crowd go absolutely bonkers for this one. The fuller spectacle is at http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3i...continen_sport -- there's nothing comparable on Youtube, unfortunately.

Mr. Perfect vs. The Blue Blazer
-- a little something to cool the crowd down just a little bit (but not too much); we don't want them to spend themselves too early. A great, short, technical, palate-cleansing match between two more of the best in the business to satisfy the smarks in the crowd that wonder why Blazer hasn't gone over Hogan yet. Again, plenty early in the card to get Perfect some rest before the Rumble matchup.

TLC 3: Edge and Christian vs. the Dudley Boyz vs. the Hardy Boyz vs. Jericho and (redacted) (c) for the WWF Tag-Team Titles. And, here's the spotfest everyone's been waiting for. TLC 1 and 2 were quite awesome as well, but the addition of two more superstars we had to get on our card, Y2J and (redacted), with the angle of Vince McMahon trying to screw them out of the titles by throwing them into this brutal match with the experts of the trade, just adds a little bit more and is played out perfectly in the match with the apparent injury to (redacted) early on.

Shawn Michaels betrays Marty Jannetty on the Barber Shop
-- with both Rockers scheduled to enter the Rumble, but tension mounting between them, what could possibly happen? Only one of the most spectacular and memorable backstage segments in history. Besides, we need some time to clear the debris out of the ring after TLC.

Vader vs. Cactus Jack in a Texas Death Match. Cactus Jack had previously had his nose broken by Vader in a March TV match, and had been powerbombed through a table in April and given a concussion that put him off the air for a few months. This is the blowoff match for this eight month feud between two people who know how to hurt each other.

1992 Royal Rumble for the vacant WWF title. Needless to say, a lot of what you feel about our card will be based on what you feel about this match. It takes up nearly half our ring time. There's not much to say about the match itself; it's a match that's about how it makes you feel about wrestling and about yourself afterwards.

We think it's all completely worth it, and we've crafted our card to build toward this match, which is the consensus best Rumble of all time and one of the most significant matches in WWF history. There are a number of great storylines going into this match, including the obvious controversy over Hogan being stripped of the title by WWF president Jack Tunney, the Undertaker's presence (and we've shown his dominance and indestructibility by putting him over Bret Hart earlier in the card), and Ric Flair being stuck at #3 and how impossible it would be for Flair to make it through the field (pushed masterfully both before and during the match by the team of Monsoon and Heenan). Along with the Rumble itself, culminating in the first WWF title for one of the top few wrestlers of all time, we get the legendary Flair "with a tear in my eye" promo to close out the show, and also leave our fans wondering what will happen with the controversy between Hogan and Sid. And, this is our only heavyweight title match on the card, which we think adds just a little bit more.

We've tried very hard to build just not a collection of really good matches (not that that isn't also an admirable goal), but a cohesive wrestling card that captures and appeals to all the great things about wrestling -- the high flyers, the legendary stars, the technical masterpieces, the spotfests, the brutality, and the drama. With the single exception of the TLC3 match, which we think fits really well despite the time difference, all of our matches and promos are within a 5 year time period from 1988 - 1993.
