I can't possibly imagine this. Let's see if the following either alleviates your fears or makes you more fearful: I'm drafting what I'm drafting almost entirely for the stuff that happens outside of bell-to-bell time.

Seriously, I could maybe wait on this one for several more rounds before picking it, but all of these completely out-of-the-blue matches keep getting picked and it makes me feel like I have to throw out consideration of others' draft boards, because unlike usual I don't have the first ****ing clue where most people are going from one pick to the next.

With my 3rd Round pick, I select...

v.

Spoiler:

Randy Savage v. Jake "The Snake" Roberts, This Tuesday in Texas (6:25)

If you haven't properly seen the heel work of Jake Roberts, easily one of the greatest and most evil heels in history, look no further than this.

This is the match.

This is the completely epic **** after the match. The slap heard round the world, followed by one of the sickest heel promos you'll ever hear.

By the way, you may notice that Savage was already on my card, commentating on Bret-Perfect. I think this is perfectly okay, especially given the timeframe that went on here. This was Savage's return after being reinstated to in-ring competition, and he had been a weekly fixture at the announce booth up until now. Him commentating on an early match, and then pulling the standard "I've gotta get ready for my match" and leaving works just fine here. This match will occur in the latter part of my card, and Bret-Perfect will go on early in order to accommodate this logistical matter.

Spoiler:
LKJFest I:
NWA Title: Flair v. Steamboat
Perfect v. Bret
Randy Savage v. Jake "The Snake" Roberts

That wasn't the match I was thinking of but I still like the pick.

Also I'm getting like 22-23 minutes of footage that I really like, and it's just 6:45 bell-to-bell.

I've PM'd Yankeys.

In terms of the best 20 Danielson matches in ROH alone (i assume he has some sicko Japanese matches out there too ive not remotely scratched the surface of) you are basically trying to compare supercars. Ferrari F40 is faster than the 911 but the 911 has more history etc. The end result is all are just really awesome matches so closely packed in quality it isnt close to clear which is the best, but Unified ticked a lot of boxes with the historic moment of unifying the titles being the clincher between that and a few others i saw that i thought the ring work and story were at least as good when i watched them.

My third round selection is:

vs.

Spoiler:

Ric Flair vs. Mr. Perfect - January 25, 1993 Edition of Raw - "Loser Leaves Town Match"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlvLhUQ1-Yw

I totally missed this match on my preliminary screenings, but I'm glad I stumbled upon it afterwards. This isn't either one of their greatest matches, obviously, but it is the end of a great feud that included the always awesome Bobby Heenan. Furthermore, it's a great moment in Mr. Perfect's career.

My card:

Magnum TA vs. Tully Blanchard - NWA US Title "I Quit Match" (14:43)
Bruiser Brody and Stan Hansen vs. Dory and Terry Funk - PWF World Tag Team Championship Match (18:57)
Ric Flair vs. Mr. Perfect - "Loser Leaves Town Match" (23:00)

Total Match Time: 56:40

Also, I just noticed the spreadsheet has my time remaining wrong from the previous two matches, as there should be 10 more minutes taken off.

You weren't far off, LKJ, that was high on our draft board. I was giving serious consideration to taking it this round.

Those two promos are probably the best either man ever did. Psycho face Savage and über-creepy heel Jake were awesome.

I think there were better Flair matches out there, although this has the benefit of not using up a world title match.

I don't know quite where this draft went off the rails, but I think everybody is now properly frightened into thinking that a match they like could be going whenever now.

I had my whole card mapped out, but then something in this thread ****ed with my thinking yesterday and now a few things are out of sorts. But I think I know where I'm going with my next one.

I was gonna wait until my last match to draft a Flair match because there's probably 20 that I would be happy with, but the list is significantly shorter on Mr. Perfect matches.

Thanks for bringing my math error to my attention, yankeys. It is now fixed.

Dylan is up, but I think he already knows that. He's nearly as omnipresent here as I am.

I knew that if there was someone to fear on this, it was you. I'm glad you're confirming that it would have been a tremendous gamble to try to wait all the way until my 5th or 6th pick to get it.

There were matches higher up my board, but I can make peace with getting sniped on any of them.

This is the awesome match where Malenko makes his surprising return and faces Jericho. This was one of my favorite WCW moments.

Spoiler:

This is the match that should have been the biggest moment in WCW history. WCW got almost everything wrong, but Goldberg. Smarks may not like Goldberg because he no sold and couldn't do very many moves, but you watch this match and see 80,000 people on their feet and tell me this wasn't an amazing moment.

My Fourth Round selection is:

Spoiler:
Wild Pegasus(Chris Benoit) vs. The Great Sasuke 1994 Super J-Cup Finals - Match Time: 18:46

I think I have this match overvalued in terms of this particular draft because I wasn't witness to most of the end of Chris Benoit's career, but in a vacuum this may be the greatest match I've ever seen. The back-and-forth and high-paced action is remarkable to me even close to 20 years later.

My card:

Magnum TA vs. Tully Blanchard - NWA US Title "I Quit Match" (14:43)
Bruiser Brody and Stan Hansen vs. Dory and Terry Funk - PWF World Tag Team Championship Match (18:57)
Ric Flair vs. Mr. Perfect - "Loser Leaves Town Match" (23:00)
Wild Pegasus vs. The Great Sasuke - 1994 Super J-Cup Finals (18:46)

Total Match Time: 1:15:26

Jericho/Malenko is an interesting choice that was on our radar (though I think you know what you need to do to make that a good pick).

Goldberg/Hogan was not on our radar for various reasons.

My fourth pick:

v.

Spoiler:

WCW Tag Team Titles: The Steiner Brothers v. Sting/Lex Luger (SuperBrawl I), 11:09

One of the better tag team title matches ever put on by one of the American big two, this packs in some awesome action and does so in a reasonably compact period of time. Probably my favorite Steiners match ever.

Part 1
Part 2

Spoiler:
LKJFest I:
NWA Title: Flair v. Steamboat
Tag Titles: Steiners v. Sting/Luger
Perfect v. Bret
Savage v. Jake

Awesome draft yankeys. In the sense it was going to be my pick when it got back to me and its a great match

Its the first J Cup, its Benoit at the start of his breakout as he became the Crippler the year after iirc, its a 5 star match by Meltzer which is worth something on its own and as i say the ring work and story was just world class and it had some really great big spots too. I had to insta rewatch the rebound crossbody over the top rop to the apron down to the floor and the flip suicide corkscrew moonsault to the outside was uber sick.

Plan B or i come up with a plan C i guess

Ah, so I chose well. I was flipping a coin between that and another one. I suggest sniping it as revenge.
