I haven't watched wrestling in years, but I've recently started listening to Cornette's stuff because I've always enjoyed him. Bret was always my favorite wrestler as a kid (not saying 8 year old me dressed as him in a homemade Hitman costume for Halloween, but I'm not saying I didn't) so the Screwjob episode was a blast.

As others have said, if you're a fan of the history of wrestling, a lot of these aren't going to break new ground, but they're entertaining 45 minute one shots.

Really odd to me that there is no episode on Benoit.

If we are talking dark side of the ring, there is nothing darker. They could use it to talk about more modern attrocities and head trauma.

The series was very 80's oriented. Only the Montreal Screwjob was a post-80s story.

I like the Gino Hernandez story except that it really didn't tell anymore information about whether he was killed or od. Because a guy who wouldn't say who he was said he overdoesed it gave closure

I strongly doubt they would’ve gotten any cooperation from WWE on that topic. It would’ve been really hard to do without footage, WWE controls all of it except for his time in Japan.

Watched it. Didn't learn too much, but it was well done and quite emotional.

Also, wow his son is a spitting image of Chris. Was so weird seeing him.

EP 3, The Life and Crimes of New Jack is out.

I knew most of New Jack's crimes and even I'm shocked by some of the stuff I didn't know.

They do an ok job explaining it but I feel the question remains: how the **** is New Jack not in prison.

Russo is such a piece of ****...overall this documentary series though is incredibly well done. Glad it wasn't too many episodes, made it really easy to binge/watch catch up.

his kid wants to wrestle as chris benoit jr (it's his middle name) with even that entrance theme.

You can still be a wrestler but you have to wear a mask and get a different name ffs.

Just started this series myself, gee, do cornette russo hate each other? I can't quite tell.

Brawl for all could've panned out for bart in the end if they just used him as a mid card heel who could beat most people up for a year or two instead of that stupid butterbean crap but they had already decided he was worthless and well all of that was simply because russo wanted to see bradshaw knocked out.

It turned out to be a bad idea but cmon Vince DID approve it.

I feel like Russo got too much hate from Coronette about the JBL thing being the catalyst for the idea. Yes it started cuz he wanted to see JBL get pooped on but crap tons of other ideas came from some kind of personal vendetta so to speak.

It was just poorly planned and things didnt work out, especially for Bart that 75k was probably his last nice payday

Tough Enough seems like a completely indefensible idea, but I’ll be damned if I wouldn’t pay money to watch it if there were a way to run it back with young Haku in.

I haven't watched these but it seems like Vince isn't being interviewed for them. If that's the case and they can get Russo and Cornette on, why not embellish a little bit. It's obviously all on Vince.

Two things stick out at me from the Schultz episode.

1 - I never knew he and Hogan were so close and why they stopped talking.

2 - There were pictures shown of Mr T with all the wrestlers in the back and a picture of him and the Road Warriors appears. Where the hell did that come from? They were never WWF guys until the 90s.

My guess is when they were in the AWA or more likely, Starrcade 87 which was in Chicago.

"What would Herb Abrams be doing if he were alive today?"

Mick Foley: "Time."

The blurred re-enactments in this episode were especially hysterical, particularly the last 10 minutes or so.

I guess I had somewhat of a lapsed period in the early 90s because I don't remember this guy at all, but jesus christ what a ticking time bomb this crazy **** was.

My only gripe with the Road Warriors' episode is that I think Paul Ellering mixed up his 80's cartoons when talking about the origin of the Legion of Doom name and the producers failed to fact check, showing the He-Man clip anyway.

I haven't seen the Road Warriors episode yet.

But, the LoD name comes from "Challenge of the Superfriends"".

It just didn't feel complete without chronicling the new LOD with Animal and Heidenreich

The LOD one is a weak episode. Mostly was a chronological story of the team and most of the cameos didn't add a thing.
