gotta say i dont follow this sport too closely. what i wanna know is was this retirement public knowledge beforehand? his nonchalant demeaner during the post fight interview combined with the lack of shock by the announcers/broadcasters gave me the impression this whole fiasco was staged/scripted. at any rate is was poor entertainment imo

It wasn't staged or scripted. Given Brock's last couple appearances and the fact that he hasn't been the same since his surgery, I don't think anyone had reason to be surprised.

Its obvious brock is not the same guy he used to be and its not age but the result of the disease he suffered. People have said they thought it would be very tough for him to come back from it and when he came back and sucked it wasnt a suprise he quit.

Its a shame too because he could have been great.

I feel sorry for overeem. This win will give him false confidence as it was against a seriously weakened opponent and Dos Santos is gonna pick him apart stike by strike.

I think Cerrone fighting six times in a year caught up with him last night.Couldnt believe how slow he looked out there.

To never take time off and just go from camp to camp will get you eventually.

Main event was a huge let down. I was angry brock never once shot for a takedown. He has been in the ufc for 6 years and still hasn't learned much of anything beyond his basic wrestling.

guess part of the problem is brock is already rich from wwe and getting punched in the face sucks, training sucks, dieting sucks. traveling sucks.

i used to think the reason he left wwe is because he was a born competitor and really just wanted to keep competing like he did in college but on a pro level.

the actuality of it is he probably moved to the ufc because he is lazy and didn't want to travel all the time like they make you do in pro wrestling.

he just ended up being what people thought he was in the 1st place a over hyped side show but the sad part is he could have ended up being a really great fighter if he just cared about it at all.

junior and overeem are pretty much the same fighter on paper except the reem has much much better striking. junior does have some pretty insane knock out power but i think he's going to have to get lucky to beat overeem

he said in the post fight interview that he had a big cut in his mouth before the fight even started from head butting his horse...

One judge gave him a round (the 2nd I think) but I think that was generous to say the least.

Diaz looked the busier and more accurate fighter throughout.
