If you know the history of these guys in NJPW, it's pretty meh to see them going at it. Finn was never portrayed as on the same level as Shinsuke. He was just the leader of BC and that was that. otoh, I don't believe they ever faced each other in a singles match in NJPW. It's possible they never interacted.

In the lead up to this, Shane and Bryan said they didn't want SD! to be seen as the "B" show because they're not. But why does that matter for this match? Shouldn't the fact that they won last year say they're already not the "B" show until RAW wins?

Why isn't the roster out there celebrating after the bell like when the Astros win the world series as soon as the final out happens? That really just cemented that it meant absolutely nothing.
