Its her mannerisms in the ring. She just comes off as a very convincing monster.

Her work stands for itself. I mean, its all based on opinion and I am not a big mark when it comes to japan wrestling (I like it but I don't think its the best thing ever) however, I cannot deny how well asukas persona translates in the ring.

All fair comments above. I'll give her matches special attention going forward and hopefully I can get aboard this train

Never watched anything before that though.
I'm not sure I can really describe very well why I find someone to be charismatic. Kind of a subjective know-it-when-you-see-it thing. Her mannerisms and presence make me more interested in her matches even when not taking ringwork into account. But I dig her offensive arsenal too, and I think her ring psychology is on point.

Not that this is very important but she is cute as hell too. Not sexy necessarily, but cute. If that makes sense.

If brock and aj only get 10 minutes, we are in for a very, very long 5 on 5 match.

Agree it is subjective for sure. I hope I completely change my view over the coming weeks/months.

Not to go down the cute Japanese wrestler rabbit hole, but I felt the same about Kairi Sane in the MYC, but I also enjoyed her matches a hell of a lot outside of her looks.

The stupid feed I pay actual money for better not screw up during this Bork thing.

So the structure of the show means that they may as well pre-announce Brock as the winner here.

Was trying to see the signage in the background to make out where it was, but did they just use TNA footage in that AJ package (or was it WCW)?

It felt like that was going to be the case from the beginning, but even more so when Jinder showed up during AJs promo earlier.

I mostly think Asian wrestlers need to be masked or with a manager in American companies but I’m a big fan of Asuka’s and think she’s one of wwe’s best assets.

Obviously her ring work is phenomenal but her charisma and mannerisms really put her over the top for me. Every match feels like it’s a blood feud and has a purpose.

I really liked nakamura from the little I saw in Japan and his debut here but haven’t been watching much over last couple months to say whether he’s been a failure or not.

Ya, as soon as they put up that stupid win tracker thing I knew this would happen.

The only thing I can think is that if RAW goes over in the main then they could give Smackdown the win in overall matches.

That's the thing for me though: I don't see Asuka's in-ring work as phenomenal from what I have seen in NXT/WWE. She has had some really good matches for sure in NXT, but her WWE matches have been okay. There are lots of really talented women in WWE. Hell, they just released one of them.

Quite frankly I've been bored by a lot of Nakamura's matches. That's just me though.

This is the first ever meeting in WWE of two former IWGP Heavyweight champions.

Well to be fair, Asuka has only had 4 matches in wwe as far as I remember. One of those needed to make up for lost time on the ppv (TLC) the other was a rematch from that ppv and one was her beating up a jobber.

I don't feel like its fair to say much about her body of work based on those matches. Once she starts feuding with the main roster, hopefully her work in the wwe gets better. But I do see what you're saying now. Her matches with Emma were not very good.

More botches than you expect to see in an AJ match, but still pretty damn good.

If you don't like her you don't like her.

Just move on.

****ing dumb ending spot though. God I can't stand those spots where the person executes a jump that can only end in a counter.

Well brock kicked out of AJ's finnisher. But it would have been dumb if AJ kicked out of the F5.

Move on from what? lol. I'm not saying I'll never like her. I'm actually going to pay closer attention to her matches now. Thanks for your contribution.

The flying forearm immediately preceding the finish I said to my wife "I could have sworn that flying forearm was going to end up in an F5." Moments later I was like "well, there it is".

Was that 10,000x better than Brock v Jinder would have been? Or more?
