I'd be surprised if they did add rules about timely getting into the ring or timely returning to the ring if you go out but not over the top. Unfortunately, the WWE bookers like having those loopholes available to them, as stupid as the loopholes are and as much as it cheapens the match.

I guess my frustration is due to the fact that there are so many matches no with a No DQ stipulation. It feels like at least half of the major matches on PPV have rules that do nothing to prevent blatant interference, and so the result is that we get a lot fewer clean finishes. For all the things AEW does wrong, one thing it does right is that most matches have clean endings, or ending where the heels have to clever about how they cheat so they don't get caught. In a modern WWE match it just feels like we're just waiting for the run-in and it doesn't even matter if the ref sees it or not.

As Jim Cornette points out: this is especially goofy when you're doing a show in an empty arena.

I thought it was to mimic how big boxing/UFC fighters enter - big fight feel when he has an entourage with him, music playing for a long time before he comes out, etc.

To protect him from the COVID.

I watched a few older rumbles last week and in some of them the managers were allowed to be at ringside as long as their guy was still in the rumble, but then I believe there were others where managers were not allowed to stick around.

You would think more factions would come down to help each other. AJ Styles had his guy help this year and last year Rollins had Murphy and AOP come down with him and basically help eliminate a few people and save Rollins at one point, so some of them do it.

Of course it is also just illogical that when a tag team or members of a stable just start fighting each other when there are many other people still in. Many times there are 4 people left, 2 good friends and one of them decides to turn on the other, dump them out and then take on the other 2 guys by themselves. It happened last year with Edge eliminating Orton after teaming up together. If I remember correctly its Edge, McIntyre, Orton, and Reigns left and Edge does a surprise elimination of Orton so that he can then be up against two guys much bigger than himself with no ally. Makes no sense.
