Depth has been a big issue with past women's Rumbles. This one just didn't seem bad to me; this seemed like the standard amount of nostalgia filler that we see in men's matches. And at least one of the nostalgia points - Santino - was quite entertaining.
I hated, hated, hated last year's women's Rumble, but thought this was a big upgrade.
It's supposed to be special being in a RR match though. Every time there is a womens rumble now and I think about what the field is going to look like---I come to the realization the answer is 'literally the entire roster, plus more because they are desparate for bodies'
This years men's field is absolutely stacked, but with that (barring changes from the announced group), there leaves 2 or 3 spots open for NXT stars (who have actually been booked as strong and dangerous threats to the main WWE audience.
The womens rumble had 12 NXT women, many of whom were totally unrecognizable and new to the crowd. It just loses credibility to me.
