With ROH being on Destination America, here is a thread to discuss events from TV and elsewhere.

I set my DVR to pick these up now. There's a lot of wrestlers that I don't know yet, so I'll be kind of clueless until I've got a few episodes under my belt.

Dalton Castle.... gimmick of the year

The first episode on DA wasn't one of the best episodes I've seen. The week before was mostly a Kyle O'Reilly vs Jay Lethal 4 star or so level match, so that would have been a better first impression.

O'Reilly was voted Wrestling Observer runner up for best technical wrestler of the year last year. He doesn't really have much in terms of character though.

Jay Lethal, however, does. He's really good in the ring and on the mic. One of my favorite wrestlers right now. He's the TV champion, which is sort of like the US champ in WWE, but part of his schtick is that he denies it is a secondary belt, and declares himself the #1 man in the company by having it.

Lethal's feuding with Jay Briscoe, another excellent all around performer, and the current world champ. Him and his brother (very good in his own right) nearly took a WWE offer recently, but they have a business outside of wrestling and that may have swayed them.

Roderick Strong is another wrestler who is outstanding in the ring but could use more in terms of character.

Sometimes AJ Styles or the Young Bucks wrestle on ROH TV. Once in a great while they will show a match with a great Japanese wrestler against an ROH wrestler also.

ROH has significantly better announcing than TNA or WWE now, which is a plus.

I watched it last night and really enjoyed it. Like LKJ I dont know many of the performers as its only the 2nd or 3rd time sampling the product. I dont know how far out in advance they tape their shows but it felt like it was before the announcement of there move to DA. I wonder when they catch up to the announcement if the format of the show will change or even the look. We will just have to wait I guess

If you don't know who Jay Lethal is then go watch his promos with Flair in TNA right now.

I feel like their tag line should be, "In ROH, we wrassle."

Wish Lethal would bring back Black Machismo. He'd show Damien Sandow how to really do the Macho Man.

I loved the Black Machismo gimmick, but can't really get into Lethal as a top guy. Feel the same about the Briscoes. Isn't the one who has the belt a homophobic racist on Twitter? Kind of makes him hard to root for I'd think. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought he had a habit of saying the wrong things.

I was only half paying attention and too lazy to look it up, but was the kid who got his ass kicked Corino's son? And was that Corino announcing? I haven't seen the guy in a long time, but if so, holy **** does he look different.

As to Corino and son, yes to both.

As to Briscoe, I wonder how long he'll keep calling Lethal "boy".

Size issue?

Hey, family show.

But no, I don't know. He can entertain me, but I don't feel like he's someone I can't miss or really feel the need to get behind or totally hate.

Perhaps now that ROH is clearly getting more viewers total (counting weekend syndication and DA) than TNA they can attract a bit more talent.

Hopefully they use their new deal to bring in Hogan, Sting and Bischoff. That'll push them to the next level IMO.

Nah, they need Jim Cornette. He'll slap them into shape.

They tape as they tour, so last week and the next couple of weeks all come from the same night of wrestling, night 2 of a ROH/NJPW supershow. (Global Wars '15, May 16)

Shinsuke Nakamura faced Roderick Strong in a match they'd better show at some point.

Taking lessons from the Japanese cameramen, who probably bump the lens into her ass accidentally at least once per entrance they are so close.

The Romantic Touch may be a better gimmick than Dalton Castle

I hope the Briscoes come to WWE soon. Maybe the bookers will give Harper/Rowan the tag titles, then you bring in the Briscoes to fued with them.

Wishing a WWE tag team run on someone isn't very nice.

Wishing an Intercontinental title run on one of the Briscoes would be worse.

It was announced they re-signed to a two year deal in April.

Yujiro Takahashi walks in with some... talent as well.
