with jones quickly becoming the big thing of MMA this superfight seems more likely to happen than spider/GSP. plus u wouldn't get any of the "oh gsp only lost cuz he was injured" bull****

I doubt Jones can make a catchweight, assuming you mean 195. He's already big for LHW and has often said he'll have to move up to HW at some point in his career when he fills out his lanky frame.

The only fair thing that can be done in regards with bones jones fights would be to have a max weight of 205 for jones. Then unlimited weight for the opponents. Give them a small chance to grind out a decision.

If JJ had to make 188lbs, I'd put my money on AS??? maaybe. b/c jones should be feeling kinda crappy dropping that much weight. If jones was like at 197 or 200, It'd be virtually the same result as Jones v. Machida. The only diff being AS should land more and avoid more. AS can't grapple w/ him.

Think about AS vs Chael. Now imagine that Chael is a bigger, stronger, more lethal striker.

Anderson Silva has fought at light heavyweight before. He destroyed James Irvin and Forrest Griffin so he wouldn't have a problem fighting at lhw. I read a report that his walking weight is as much as 225-230. He cuts a LOT of weight to make middleweight.

FWIW I'd much rather see Silva take on Bones than GSP. Silva is just too big for GSP, that's why GSP has always said he needed to put on more weight to go up against Silva because Silva is a huge middleweight. Should be off the charts if Bones and Silva hook up.

if jones had to cut under 205 he would be a drained ghost.
if at 205 jones wins by brutal manhandle. no way can anderson stop any takedown.
If jones is dumb enough to strike I'd say Anderson schools him.

The match would look very similar to Jones vs Machida.

I think Anderson would make it more competive, but he would not be able to take the stiking game to Jones lest he be taken down. I believe Jones would easily get the takedown eventually and elbow him into oblivion.

machida has about 10x the takedown defence of Anderson. Jones could seriously just toy with Anderson to get the takedown with his reach, size and wrestling advantage.
Hes also a better athlete in my opinion.

yeah anderson can be elusive, but not in a way that would help him much in a fight with jones i think. hes good at head movement and upper body rolls, but that would just make him end up on the floor against a guy like jones.
