I wish that Sean Oliver podcast was up in directories so that I could just subscribe now and get it when it hits. I enjoy his shoot interviews, so I'm down for trying his podcast.

2 very fun moments from pt. 2:

Jack to JP: "do you have anything to say for yourself"
Hogan to [spoiler here]: "brother"

Usually pt. 1's are a lot better than the Deep Dive's but this was a rare miss for a pt. 1. The laughing doesn't usually kill it for me but I ended up skipping 5 seconds at a time on my pc past laughing cuz it was so much

I was listening to the HH 1998 episode last night and it occurred to me, why not have Hogan vs. Warrior at Starrcade? In hindsight we know this turns out as the worst match ever but they're only two months out from Starrcade and Hogan's not in the title picture.

Hogan doesn't appear at Starrcade 1998 and from some digging, I see that he wasn't actually doing anything at the time aside from gearing up for the presidential gimmick he had but he did the fingerpoke 8 days after this so he wasn't done in the ring at this point. He also works Flair in February's Uncensored event.

I haven’t made it through the entire new TLF, but this has been their worst episode in a long while.

After so much great stuff they’re entitled to an occasional miss, but **** they were obnoxious.

The TLF guys always get on Gorilla Monsoon about the thing where he critiques minor points of certain submission holds, but I always think they're taking the wrong thing away. They seem to process it as though he's being critical of the person applying the hold. I've always heard it pretty clearly as him offering an explanation as to how the hold, while very painful, is not likely to result in a submission unless the guy applying it cinches it in better. I've always regarded it as good psychology on his part.

Even as a kid I always interpreted this as you're describing it. I also remember Jesse Ventura saying things about needing to wear a guy down before you could slap on a finisher as a way to explain why Jake the Snake or whoever doesn't just constantly and immediately try to do the DDT.

I've only listened to the first 20 seconds of the new TLF but I'm expecting this to be a hilarious JP episode. I thought last week was quite good as well considering how awful the prior week was. The Savage/Hogan/Meltzer skit early in pt. 2 was incredible. I listened many many times.

JP as Savage is tremendous. It's an impression that many attempt, but few do it that well.

TLF is such a weird podcast. They have a four hour show about a Saturday Night Main Event that lasted 45 minutes.

I'm always on the fence on their shows-- sometimes they're great, and sometimes they just love themselves so much it's really off-putting. When the guy pretends to be Vince and says "Uber has great branding," and the other guys laughs as if that's the most hilarious thing he ever heard...

...it's like dude, that's not even a joke.

But I do appreciate the knowledge and backstory they can bring to their shows.

Yeah, even as someone who is definitely a fan and kicks in a few bucks a month for their Patreon, there's no question that they're less funny than they think they are a lot of the time. But sometimes they're legitimately hilarious, and their research is elite.

"I guess we got some more legal troubles coming are way" - Lapsed Vince. Good stuff.

I enjoyed this weeks TLF but it wasn't as funny as expected considering the topic.

I also didn't remember HBK and Razor having a match on RAW between WM X and SS 95.

For as much content as they put out, they definitely have a huge good-to-bad ratio.

ETA- I mean the good far outweighs the bad.

I feel this belongs in the podcast thread. Bray and Jojo had their kid. This poor kid's name: Knash Sixx Rotunda.

Hopefully the kid goes over more than his dad does

I really can't imagine how much money they must have spent to get the transcript of the Vince McMahon trial. I assume the trial took several days, in which case we're talking thousands of dollars to get a court reporter to create a new transcript.

It's possible a transcript already existed, but if so then we're probably not getting that tease from Jack saying (paraphrase), "The Patreon money is going back into the cast...trust me."

Yeah, it's unclear on that. My experience in my state is that it's really expensive to request a transcript that doesn't exist, but it's really cheap to get one that does.

i.e.-- if you're the first one ordering a transcript it's pricey, if you're not it's cheap.

But that's my state and my jurisdiction. YMMV.

Right, there really wouldn't be an in-between, and I wouldn't think that would be jurisdiction-dependent either.

If they were just basically paying for a copy of a transcript that already exists, they're probably just paying something like 10 cents a page plus shipping, and it wouldn't be a huge expense.

Like I said, the comment by Jack suggests to me that they took the insane step of investing the money in a new transcript, which would have to cost thousands. In any case, I certainly look forward to hearing what they do with it.

I really enjoy listening to John Pollock and Wai Ting's reviews on POST Wrestling. John put together an interview snippet/narrative about Owen - "Owen's Hart Final Day: A POST Profile." Definitely worth checking out.

I have listened to a ton of their stuff over the years. It's definitely my most listened to pro wrestling podcast.

Much better than watching the actual weekly shows, which I never do (instead I listen to their recaps).

They still do them, but in their own podcast / website instead of under the Fight Network Live Audio Wrestling name.

It's called Post Wrestling.
