I heard Ibushi/Naito was incredible. Also heard the show was a complete cluster**** and Enzo/Cass showed up for some worked shoot garbage. Imagine the big angle of an MSG event featuring those two bozos. gtfo

I was getting caught up on podcasts yesterday and I was listening to Bruce Prichard’s podcast and they did Wrestlemania X. Bruce potentially answered one of my question I had about that show since the first time I watched it. When I did the write up, I asked the question about how it was possible for Shawn/Razor to get the blame for going over and causing the 10 man tag to get cancelled. Bruce actually had mentioned that the Bret/Owen March and the Savage/Crush match both went long and he was trying to get that time back for the rest of the night. Others went long too and eventually he had to cut the tag match. Again, take it for what it’s worth, but to me, that makes a lot more sense than just blaming Shawn/Razor.
Incidentally, since I've thrown WM X on today: I really can't see Savage-Crush being an overrun culprit. Per Wiki it lasted less than 10 minutes, and that's for a gimmick match where a person would have to be counted out of the ring for a full 60 seconds in order to lose, a stip that was almost surely laid out to include some false finishes before the actual finish.

Bret and Owen did have a long match, so that could have played a part.

According to Prichard he insinuated that Savage Crush had more to do with the entrances and exits then the actual match. Apparently when they time out a match they include everything, so if they give a match 15 minutes, it might only be 12 minutes of actual wrestling.

That doesn't seem right to me either just based on the fact that Savage's entrance wasn't noticeably long and then he raced up the aisle to pick Crush off during his entrance, thus making Crush's entrance time almost non-existent.

I dunno, Savage would only be one piece of that puzzle but I guess I'd be surprised at him getting in Hall's face later for being selfish if he himself was partially to blame.

I know we have a MRM thread but I don't wanna find and bump it. I'm gonna miss a WM MRM this year

Mrm?

I was afraid to ask because I thought I was missing something obvious, but yeah I don't know what MRM stands for either.

Did he quit making videos all together or just the Mark Remark?

Just Mark Remark. Per his Twitter, the past few months have been very rough on him with YT cutting a bunch of his income and his depression issues. It's . We threw a few pm's back and forth when he was around here. Good guy.

That’s too bad. He does quality work. Did they just cut his Mark Remark money or everything he produces?

The cutting money was after he discontinued Mark Remark. Happened in Dec/Jan iirc. He made a video on his channel last April/May about why he stopped doing MRM. It was just too time consuming and he felt he had to cut at least one project so that one went though he said he may do a few here and there so it's not definite we don't get a Mania episode.

Da Meltz in the latest podcast kind of reviews the Gino doc coming up from Vice. He says a bunch of the dirt worst stuff was left out of the doc and there's a specific thing that seems to go against the conspiracy theory TLF has of him being killed but I won't spoil that

His sidekick this week (idk who he is) talks the Randy/Liz doc and says if you're a hardcore fan that you'll get almost nothing out of it. Hulk apparently criticized it as well on Twitter saying that nobody who mattered was in it and Vice tweeted back saying that they asked him to be in it but he said no. This one came out on 4/10.

Man, TLF is coming back from the WCCW journey with a "Diggin' in the Crates" from 1992. I thought/hoped they might have abandoned that concept. I suppose it might be some of the easiest stuff to do since there's no real research project to complete, so from that standpoint I get it; I was expecting them to go dormant for a solid month after Mania, so I'll take what content I can get.

Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't looking forward to upcoming eps cuz I figured it'd be a while. I'm kinda sour on TLF now but hoping normal shows brings me back into it.

The sentence they play from him at 1:21:10 in pt. 2 is one of the funniest things ever. I don't think TLF intended it to be but he emphasizes 5 words in it in only the way he can.

Just went on Twitter to see what the next episode will be. I did an extremely rare thing (for me), look at the matches on Wiki. The article starts off like this:

Quote:
The event consisted of eight professional wrestling matches with predetermined outcomes. The matches involved wrestlers portraying their characters (known as gimmicks) in planned storylines that took place before, during and after the event.
I pressed back to see WM XV and it didn't start anything like this. I pressed forward to No Mercy 1999 and it didn't start like this. Amazing commentary from whoever provided that. It did need to mention vehicles though. Side note: I never knew No Mercy was a non-October event.

Spoiler in relation to the most recent TLF ep's surprise:

Spoiler:
Just heard the part in the WM VI episode, around 2:19:00, when the idea was possibly first hatched. JP explicitly says they should get Sean Mooney on the show. Funny to have just run into that directly after Mooney's appearance.

There were 2 No Mercys in 99. The first was one of those UK only PPVs in May (I went to it fwiw), then there was another in October which was the first real No Mercy PPV I guess.

that explains a lot. ty! I imagine a UK ppv in 99 was the most exciting thing on the planet at the time.

Yeah they were pretty much throwaways but there were 2 shows a year and this was the only live wrestling (wwf anyway) in the UK at the time. They used to sell out real quick; me and my friend used to both stay home and mash refresh on multiple sites but still only got tickets about half the time. We were third row floor for that No Mercy though.
