I take one half of the worst tag team of all time and maybe the worst gimmick overall of all time, the Ding Dongs. The Ding Dongs were two jobbers put inside full bodysuits of various obnoxious colors with matching masks, adorned with bells.

The centerpiece of the gimmick was the following: In the corner, they had a huge bell that annoyingly loudly rang, sometimes incessantly throughout the entire match. This ringing ensured that the match inflicted continual suffering on the fan, even if he/she closed her eyes.

They had no appeal to any segment or even niche of the audience, and they managed to achieve massive sustained X-Pac heat on multiple occasions despite having only a few matches, after which they were scrapped due to the overwhelming negative response.

Hulk Hogan’s lackey and alleged lover Ed Leslie had a ton of terrible gimmicks, perhaps none worse than the Booty Man. The Booty Man shook his butt nearly the entire way out to the ring, which was made to falsely appear to be hanging out of his preposterous ring attire. Women were actually paid to swoon while looking at this spectacle.

The man behind the gimmicks was also an idiotic cancer behind the scenes during this time, inserting himself in situations he didn’t belong, including haranguing UNDRAFTED GOAT for taking too much offense from future elite superstar smaller wrestlers, claiming that by taking so much offense from and selling so much for small men, he was hurting the company in the long run and making himself a nonviable foe for Hogan.

Issac Yankem was just horrible.. I mean, a dentist.. really?

He was Jerry Lawlers personal, evil dentist and was bought in to help fix lawlers teeth after a fued with Bret Hart had lead to some kind of foot eating contest... just terrible.

What an ugly ****er. Nails was truly terrible in every possible way, but one of the reasons I have picked him is for what went on backstage. He physically assaulted Vince McMahon over money. He testified against the WWF claiming he was forced to take steroids. This guy is just a mess and his accusations actually helped mcmahon win the case.

The Gobbledy Gooker! one of the biggest disasters in a WWE history that includes a wrestler dying during a PPV, a senate investigation and trial of steroids, and chris benoit's murder-suicide!

to this day i'm still not sure what the gooker was supposed to be, a wrestler, a mascot, a santino-esque sideshow, maybe even a manager. here's what you need to know: for several months there was this oversized egg on display at all wwe shows that got a ridiculous amount of airtime. at the 1990 survivor series, it hatched!



why do i not know what it was meant to be? cuz the crowd hateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed it. nothing but boos the moment it showed up. in an era where literally EVERYTHING was over massively, the crowd turned on the gooker within an instant of it showing its face. the crowd reaction was so unilaterally negative that the gooker was written off without any mention immediately after survivor series. months and months of build wasted on some dumbass in a chicken costume. wp wp wp

I'm going for the Repo Man! Back in the 90s the writers must have been smoking some serious green to come up with some of these guys. Repo Man's whole schtick was that he stole things.. his biggest fued came from when he stole Randy Savages hat..

Mid nineties WWF was the nut low when it came to gimmicks and this guy is right up there.
