From the overall quality of the entire card, you can pretty much throw out the first nine WMs. You can throw out most of everything before X-Seven. I think you can throw out The last two. The rest are what is in the running from the "best" 'Manias, IMO. I didn't throw out anything between XX-XXIV because I really don't know much about that era. I think Wrestlemania 23 is the only 'Mania I haven't seen.
I made this same point last year but people were trying to claim that Hogan/Slaughter was an epic match and that WM7 was a great 'Mania. I agree with your post. Obviously there's more to it than just match quality though.

what do you guys put the chances of Rock/Cena putting on the same quality match that Cena/Punk had at MITB?

But yeah, the in ring work wont be as good and the crowd will be less fired up as they were in Chicago.

In fact if the crowd is anything like it was on Raw its gonna be really really ****ty.

About as good as Samoa Joe's chances at Sacrifice.

Maybe its just cos im a huge cynic but i half expect tonight to be uber aidsy. Sheamus beats Bryan in a 2 minute squash, Team AIDS goes over Team Ace, HHH vs Taker is some kind of draw like a pin and submission at the same time, the Cena Rock match is just ridiculously overbooked and Big Slow is the new IC champ are all plausible things that could happen and make a lock of a good show into just complete bile and bull****.

Eh they're usually not that bad at having all faces or all heels win at WM, it should be a 60/40ish split, though I just don't see how they have Big Show not going over with all the build, unless they think it's cute to make his WM Moment chokeslamming Rhodes post-match and posing.

I was confident they were having Cody go over until watching Big Show's promo on SD about needing a "Wrestlemania Moment."

Also, not that Big Show is ever going to be a top draw again, but I just can't see him jobbing out completely clean tonight. WWE has successfully used him as a utility/backup type talent for quite a while now. They need Big Show to remain credible so they can shove him in important roles when someone gets hurt or to team him with another top talent when they are taking a break from the main event. If he jobs out clean to a guy he has such a significant size advantage over, I think this signals a transition in Big Show's character. He'll be purely enhancement talent from this point forward if he loses sorta clean.

That is the only reason I really hesitate to say he can't win.

Big Show will remain credible even if he loses clean tonight.

Much more subtle/smaller than previous years. I assume they sold enough tickets to almost completely fill the upper bowl, so they didn't need to have a giant jumbotron blocking it off.

also great news is that apparently its nothing but blue skies down there. I grew up there and it rains like every day in April so I was worried. Lets hope we continue to have good fortune with these outdoor WM's in years to come
