He has had the same gimmick in WWF/E since he debuted. He did have some weird and disturbing different gimmicks in WCW and TNA.

Right before WWE went PG, Edge was the best heel on the roster, and really the main reason I started watching WWE again. When they first started ECW back up and it looked like they were starting an Edge vs. RVD feud, I figured that was going to be one of the greatest feuds of all time. Heel Edge would have been a natural for the old-time ECW. And for R-rated WWE he was great, too. Remember the "Live Sex Show" to celebrate his winning the title?

But PG just doesn't fit Edge any better than it would Abdullah the Butcher. And it's sad, because he used to be so awesome.

Edited to add: he was pretty good with Vickie, too, especially in the setup for the Hell in a Cell w/ Undertaker. I was there the night he Con-chair-to'd Chavo and dumped Vickie out of the wheelchair. So good.

Even though Rock wasn't that great at first, he did have a lot of things going for him and wasn't treated like an outcast, like the Miz was. Rock also had the legacy going, with his father and grandfather being former superstars.

DDP was one of my favourite wrestlers back in the day. What about the undertaker? I didn't watch when he debuted but from what I understand he was pretty boring/bad. Maybe it was just him playing up the dead man gimmick. Never saw any of his wcw matches.

If you go back to the Mean Mark Calloway days, you can make a case. But at least as 'Taker his gimmick from the start was so good he really can't beat out those other three I listed ... it's just for a while there he was fed one bad stiff after another. Put in there with anyone decent, he can go.
