I do cheer. Of course, by doing so, I do my own very small part to potentially convince the promoter to turn them face...and while Jericho is fantastic as a face just as he is as a heel, I really don't want to see Miz as a face anytime soon. That seems like it would have the potential to be a truly annoying character.

If a heel is getting cheers then he's not doing a very good job of being bad.

Should I get a replay river? Was there really a Daniel Bryan chant at the end?

My stream cut out for a second at the end..what happened besides the nxt beatdown? It looked like someone was running out of the ring through the crowd.. And what was the crowd chanting at the end, it sounded like "you're a pussy" or "this is bull****"..couldn't really tell at all.

matt- no, yes.

mrm- sheamus ran in and pinned cena then ran really fast out of dodge. nxt came back to beat up cena a little more, sheamus came out to the top of the ramp and held the belt up, NXT left cena beaten and ran after sheamus in to the back. cena sits in a heap in the ring, closeup on edge and randy, pan back to cena.

I didn't think it was too terrible of a show, but it was nothing special and Rey winning was a real downer.

I guess Rey gets rewarded for putting off his knee surgery for what, the last 6 months now? Hopefully now they put CM Punk over him for the WHC

Why the hell can't they just keep the belts on workers for 6+ months though? Especially when it comes to the world title, I hate it if the title changes hands more than twice in the span of a year.

I can't help but long for the days of the belts meaning something.

not sure why anyone honestly expected anything out of that PPV...fatal 4 way is such a stupid format and having that gimmick be the PPV is absurd

also, i'm still holding out hope the danielson thing is an elaborate work for the internet folks ala the matt hardy return only better executed

I didn't expect the PPV to be any better than that, I just had nothing to do so I waded down a river for a few hours.

Wasn't expecting that stupid result of Swagger losing though.

By the way, lots of spots like this exist or have existed, but things like Edge waiting for an eternity in one corner to spear someone in a spot where it's soooo clear that something will keep it from happening? Those are so stupid. They really need to make an effort to have spots like that go differently sometimes (like have him successfully connect with a spear after a wait like that on occasion) in order to add to the drama and psychology of those moments. I don't know why this doesn't happen.

Daniel Bryan getting fired was the best thing that ever could've happened to him. This is almost complete deja vu to when Matt Hardy got fired in wake of the Edge/Lita affair. If the chants persist, Vince will have him back before Summerslam. I'm sure it'll never amount to anything past that -- similar to when Vince inevitably brought back Matt and promptly buried him -- but for the time being, Danielson has more momentum than he likely ever would have had in his entire career if he had never been fired.

Of course, there's also just the possibility that was all because of the New York crowd, which are usually some of the rowdiest wrestling fans. I remember going to an ECW show right after Vince brought it back at Hammerstein Ballroom. During the classic extreme main event of Big Show vs Batista, the entire place erupted with, "change the channel," chants for a good 3 minutes during a live broadcast. NY crowds are just ridiculously outspoken.

+1 to NY crowds. Too bad WWE doesn't just do shows in NY, Montreal, and the old ECW Arena. Hell, they should just pay old ECW fans to attend shows. Great/antagonistic crowds really make it more fun to watch.

According to a source within WWE, another big reason why Bryan Danielson was released from the company is because he spit in the face of John Cena during the NXT beat down angle on Raw.

According to what I was told, both Cena and Vince McMahon were very upset that Danielson spat on Cena, as McMahon felt that it was too demeaning of the company's top babyface.

This of course then begs the question, "why is Cena pushing so hard to have Danielson brought back to WWE?" I was told the answer is that Cena is trying to attract more internet fans, and this is his way of "babyfacing to the wrestling world." As we have exclusively reported before, Cena going to bat for guys like Danielson and Evan Bourne on his Twitter account and in interviews is Cena's way of getting over with the fans.

It should be noted that the source I spoke with did not say the spitting incident was the ONLY reason why Danielson was released, but that it definitely played a part in his release as well as the choking incident.

My God, this would be an even more absurd reason than the tie thing.

The tie choking was actually kind of a disturbing image. I still think it was absurd to fire him over it, but I wouldn't have been surprised that he would get a little bit of backstage heat about it afterward given the PG rating.

The spitting though? Pffft. That was great. That's a pretty non-explicit thing that can be shown on any rating of TV which is the ultimate sign of disrespect, which is exactly what they were going for with these NXT guys. I'd really hate to think that it played any part in this stupid firing.

That would be especially puzzling considering they ran a big angle a few months ago where Vince spit on Bret Hart, and made a way bigger deal about it than Bryan spitting on Cena.

Edit: Speaking of puzzling, was just browsing TMZ and saw this: http://www.tmz.com/2010/06/21/dave-b...-martial-arts/. Apparently, Batista has signed with Strikeforce.

Just playing devil's advocate here, if Bret knew Vince was gonna spit on him, it wouldn't be as big of a deal as Bryan spitting on Cena without him knowing it was coming, or without it being in the script.

In essence, Bret got spit on and it set up him seeking revenge on Vince. Well, if the planned out storyline wasn't for Cena to seek out revenge specifically on Bryan, then it kinda makes the storyline not make sense if Bryan spits on Cena.

You'd think DB would apologize to Cena backstage for something like that if Cena wasn't going to know DB would take it that far. Would an apology not even matter in this instance?
