Just think how bad it'd look if we weren't getting Paul vs. Dave! I, for one, can't wait for this clash of the titans!!!

I think this is the year where they just make the fans happy. No set ups for future stories, no treading water until a SA show or summerslam, no coronation people aren't interested in. We're just gonna get to cheer Rollins, Kofi, and Becky standing tall with titles at the end.

I also think it's going to be a good show. Styles/Orton and Roman/Drew should both be entertaining filler matches. All three of the main title matches have genuine interest behind them even if they were just recycling evil mcmahon storylines across two of them. Itll still be way too long because 7 hours is just absurd, but I expect to have a good time.

Spoiler: Brock retains. I haven't read odds or anything so not actually a spoiler but it's a spoiler.

Watching this week's episode of NXT UK and the greatest sentence in the history of wrestling commentary was uttered.

Spoiler:

As a geography nerd, I'm tilted by the fact that the put Puerto Rico in a box in the Pacific and Japan in a box in the Caribbean.

Just came across this gem thanks to the Retro Nitro show Bryan Alvarez does

On Nitro this week in 2000: there was a 4 tag team tournament where the winners of the tournament would face off for a world title shot against Booker T on Thunder that Thursday. Booker T was in this tournament. This also had a Lethal Lottery type drawing to pair the four teams so Booker T's partner, the already #1 contender who was getting a title shot 13 days later anyways, Scott Steiner. So the WCW champion can win this tournament and face...nobody. and the already #1 contender can win a shot at the title he already has a shot at by beating the champion. How can it get worse than this?

At one point during the Attitude Era, MTV ran a WWF week where a number of wrestlers popped in and made guest appearances on MTV programs. At one point, Val Venis appeared by live video to talk with Carson Daly, and in the same tone as his "hello, ladies" catchphrase, he led with, "Hello, Daly."

I'm only just starting to uncringe now.

Why? Venis is a former Intercontinental champion, just like Macho Man, Bret Hart, and The Rock.

I'll be in out of curiosity. I haven't watched or seen any of the other empty arena shows so it'll be fun(?).

I'm reasonably intrigued as to what it is going to be like so I'll probably rejoin the network for month.

Charlotte Wilder has made it an annual tradition to cover WrestleMania after being assigned it for the first time a few years ago and getting into it cold.

She rewound several decades cold and gave her thoughts on WrestleMania III. It's a good read.

They found his body. Glad for that small mercy, since it spares his family from holding out hope for a miraculous survival; they can at least begin the long process of moving on now.

Awfully sad.
