Not going to watch it again, but I recall it being pretty far from "great". Do you really think it was better than Charlotte/Sasha from Revolution or Paige/Emma from Arrival?

Yeah, I'd have been okay if those were left off the list. Neither were better than Harper/Ziggler.

I wasn't watching NXT for Paige/Emma (I need to rewatch, I've seen it once but I think it got super overshadowed in my memory by Sami/CESARO) so I can't say on that. Charlotte/Sasha is obv a better match in ring so fair point there- but I think Steph/Brie was a better story* (both in the match itself and as a feud- I though Charlotte/Sasha was technically very good, but a bit lacking in compelling emotion for me).

*- the story in that match - with Nikki's turn was much better than rhe feud to be clear, but that's because Brie can't come close to matchint Steph on the mic. Steph was 5 stars the whole time.

I'd be tempted to include the other Shield/Evolution 6 man, the other Wyatt/Uso, Seth/Dean from Raw, Cesaro/Sheamus and maybe even Shield's glorious squash at Mania in mine, but no idea what I'd drop. Every Cena match that isn't Lesnar from Summer Slam? I think I've seen the Elim Chamber match and didn't love it.

I thought Rock was Brazilian or French. Reigns is technically Samoan but he looks 100 percent middle eastern muslim. Not saying it can't work but it's a gamble for sure.
If I were in charge, I would repackage Reigns as 'Razor Roman'.

I'd just call him "Reigns" because it's more intimidating and eventually make him a monster heel instead of the next Cena. At WM he should defeat Lesnar in <10 minutes due to ref stoppage from a massive beatdown. Kind of what should have happened in the Cena/Lesnar summerslam match.

Then Seth Rollins, desperate to be the star of WM, foolishly tries to cash in and he gets destroyed. Reigns holds the title for 1 year and bulldozes the entire roster with ease, but gets increasingly cocky and eventually becomes an arrogant heel. At WM32 he finally gets the epic showdown with John Cena.

WWE will probably do this exact thing except they won't turn him heel and Reigns' character will be ruined forever. Just like they ruined Mysterio and Super Cena by making them forever faces.

WWE can really shock the world with a double turn in the Rusev-Cena match at WM.

Rusev can get busted open and Cena locks him into the STF. Rusev doesn't submit but he passes out from the pain. After the match Cena continues to beat up on Rusev like a heel would and even pushes some refs. He finally leaves to a chorus of boos.

Then Lana comes into the ring screaming at rusev for losing, for letting down Russia. She starts kicking him. Rusev finally gets up and says "I don't fight for Russia!! I fight FOR ME!!! and he takes the Russian flag from Lana and tears it to shreds to massive applause from the WWE universe.

So, basically ripping off WM7 AND WM13 in one match.

it would just be an homage to the greatest WM match of all time, the double turn Hart-Austin submission match. The Rocky IV stuff is just coincidental. If they want to rip that off then they can have Rusev kill Cena's father.

The Rocky 4 analogy doesn't really work. At the beginning of the match Drago was the face and Rocky was the heel. Then again, maybe Moscow is a heel town like Chicago of Philly.

I guess WWE can have Hogan (their version of Apollo Creed) come back for one last "exhibition" match Rusev just pulverizes Hogan to the point of a ref stoppage. They can say that Rusev has officially Killed Hulkamania. Rusev says "if Hulkamania dies then he dies"

Dammit. If previously-banned conspiracy nut Private_Snowball is going to converse with previously-banned weirdo GrindPokerAllDay then we're going to have a bad time.

If they're going to go all-in on the Rocky 4 booking they'd have to dedicate at least 50% of Raw to training montages, which would actually be a huge improvement on the current product.

Pretty sure the entire build for WrestleMania 2 was Hogan lifting weights with his taped-up ribs.

Listened to Daniel Bryan on a Colt Cabana podcast from when Ryder was popular. He was doing autograph sessions with Ryder and everybody wanted Ryder's autograph and nobody wanted his, even awkwardly avoiding getting it. But you can tell that he was really thinking about how to get over in this new environment (he had previously been one of the top indy stars). Bryan said 90% of being over in WWE was your entrance and ring attire. I'd love to hear an update on this; an honest answer to somebody asking him why he did get way, way over.

Step 1: Entrance
Step 2: Ring Attire
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit

Spoiler:
Step 3: One syllable catch phrase

Went out with a girl tonight whose brother was a big WWE fan. However, his heart was broken by his ex, whom he got into wrestling, then proceeded to get a job with WWE and dump him for...one of the RAW writers. Ouch.

I loved the episode where the writer in question wrote that poop joke for Cena.

He watched a UFC event, realized how tilting Diego Sanchez YES chant was. Added it as a Heel smackdown champ, it got over.

Thats step 3.

I certainly suspect that it is mostly the yes catch phrase, though I wonder if nonverbal communication or subtle psychology changes played a role also.
