FWIW, Punk has talked about hanging up the boots and retiring since the start of his monster title run. I figure this booking of him under HHH (again, seriously that **** was the book?) was the last straw.

The stuff about main eventing WM as his last goal, and truly main eventing it by going on last, was pretty literal. I figure if he got his wish and got that big match this year he would have been out the door not too long after. Probably asking for a Mania retirement match to end it on. Which makes me think that if this is legit and he really wants to go he could still return for one last run leading up to that retirement in something involving the title at some point in the future.
