I figured that. Why is Micheal Hayes and Bulldog on there? what they do at a WM?

And Owen can't be on the list since his wife owns his likeness rights and she's still mad at the WWE.

This was posted on some dirtsheet sites citing a WWE source. Hogan/Cena might be an interesting storyline, but unless it's fodder for a major Cena heel turn (impossible, imo) I will likely be suicidal during the match.
If it's not posted on pwtorch or prowrestling.net, it's likely false.

I really hope this isn't the card, but I have never seen this guy post any blatant lies.

So what exactly would they have to do to scrap Edge/Cena and work Hogan in? Aside from the fact that Hogan's beyond done, Mania requires a certain level of buildup, and just bringing Hogan in because he's Hulk Hogan won't work any better this time around than it did the last 3 or 4 times they did it.

Hayes was never in a Wrestlemania... so no idea why he is in. Bulldog was in Wrestlemania 2, III, VII, XI, XII, and 13. He is clearly deserving.

Kamala is the only one besides Hayes who did not appear in a Wrestlemania.

Tragic news in the wrestling world.

Wrestling legend Verne Gagne implicated in death of man, 97

Verne Gagne is before my time as a fan, but older 2+2ers from Minnesota probably know him. I knew him only as the retired former 10 time AWA World Champion and the owner/promotoer of the American Wrestling Association which I watched on ESPN. At one time, he was arguably the most succesful wrestler in the business and certainly in the top 3.

Gagne was a member of the 2006 WWE Hall of Fame class.

The DVD The Spectacular Legacy of the AWA is a great watch. It tells the whole history of the AWA and focuses a lot on Gagne as a wrestler and owner/promoter.

Apparently, Gagne, 82, has been diagnosed with Alzheimers-related dementia and has been hospitalized for some time.

Before my time as well but man everyone was in the AWA before going to the WWF.
Rick Martel (who seems like a solid easy-going guy) thought Verne was a little nuts.

They were underlings for Dibiase at different times. Virgil turned on Ted long before the Million Dollar Corporation, where Dibiase was just a manager and for a while had Volkoff running around with a cent sign on his back.

I've heard Hayes' pre-WWE work with the Freebirds get talked up a bunch, but I never saw anything. I can only assume that his appeal elsewhere must've helped him in.

Bulldog definitely deserves it. Multi-time tag champ, IC champ, main evented a SummerSlam vs. Bret and a King of the Ring vs. Michaels.

Michael Hayes is in the game because he's worked for the WWE since 1995.

He's a legit wrestling legend, but not because of his brief run as a WWF wrestler in 1984 or as a manger of the Hardy Boyz for about a month. The Freebirds were ground-breaking in many ways, notably their use of music to enter the ring and their 3-member makeup. But, all their accomplishments are outside the WWE, especailly in the World Class (Texas), Mid-South (Louisianna), Georgia territories.

Vince McMahon has thought highly of Michael Hayes for a long time. When the Freebirds signed with the WWF in 1984, McMahon wanted to push Hayes as a single star. Hayes refused because he wanted to keep the team together and they all left when no arrangement could be made.

Hayes could have been big in the mid-80s WWF. He was competant in the ring but was great on the mic. That was the formula for stardom then.

Hogan/Cena may be the biggest "out of left field" rumor I've heard. Hogan/Jericho on the other hand makes perfect sense. Hogan has reportedly agreed to job to Austin IF SCSA would/could agree to the match, would he do the same for Jericho? They could potentially set Chris up for one of the greatest heel runs in HISTORY if they had him slaughter Hogan at WrestleMania!!

HBK v Taker
HHH v Orton

those both sound good to me for what it's worth. Edge is pretty entertaining against just about anyone and Matt v Jeff you just knew would happen.

Very sad to see they've buried Christian already though

I thought of Hogan/Jericho as it would make some sense, but there is roughly zero percent chance Hogan would job to Jericho.

Cena vs Hogan would be great. Cena hits the FU, Hogan hulks up and hits the leg drop, Cena overcomes the odds and puts him in the STFU, Hogan gets the ropes and hulks up....match would never end.

LOL it would be like the final battle in Terminator 2. Hogan runs over Cena with a truck, gets two. Cena cryogenically freezes Hogan and shatters him with a gunshot, gets two, hulk up, Hogan stabs Cena through the chest with a huge spike, gets two, hulk up, Cena shoots Hogan with a shotgun grenade bomb which drops him into a huge vat of molten steel, finally getting the 3. Hogan and Cena shake hands after the match and are fine, conclude match with double posedown.
