LKJ, I know that you know everything about law so I gotta ask: does CC actually have a case here?

I mean, to offer a disclaimer, I really don't. Like most lawyers, I got the basic law school education and then began specializing in one area of law, and much of what I had to cram into my brain to spit out onto the bar exam has fallen out. That said, contracts was a better subject for me than most, and I feel like I've still retained a fair bit of it, so I feel like I can at least flail wildly at something like this.

Taking the complaint as true on its face (I skimmed it a bit; I didn't read super closely), yes I think so. If one party reasonably relies on another to their detriment and can prove that this led to them being damaged, they can recover accordingly.

I don't exactly know how Colt can establish that he would have simply caved to Amann's lawyer's demand letter and gotten out of dodge but for Punk's representations, but if he can then his complaint seems reasonable.

Also the article has the Complaint attached as well as Exhibit A, but the Complaint also references Exhibits B through H, and those don't seem to be available through that link. Not as easy to assess the whole thing without seeing those.

But yeah, short answer is that at the very least it seems non-frivolous to me.

Speaking of law stuff, I've always wondered how WWE can get away with so many obvious rip-offs of songs as entrance themes.

Entrances like Cesaro's first theme, TJ Perkins theme and Adam Rose's second theme are unmistakable copy cats. Others (e.g. Seth Rollins, Asuka, Carmella, Samoa Joe) sound more similar to existing songs than songs that were actually sued for plagiarism.

And it's not like that's unique to WWE (Self High Five, anyone?).

So how does that actually work, legally speaking?

Wish I could offer any insight there, but I'm utterly clueless when it comes to intellectual property stuff. I took Entertainment Law during 3L out of curiosity, only to discover that it was the most boring **** that I had encountered in law school (no small feat). I retained almost none of it.

WWE fans turned against The Rock to take Hogan's side at WM X-8. Would they have done the same if we had gotten Hogan vs. Austin?

The fans showed a willingness to turn against The Rock otherwise, so it wasn't purely Hogan nostalgia at play here. I struggle to imagine a crowd so clearly turning against Austin as that Toronto crowd did against Rocky.

My tendency is to think that we would have seen something much closer to a 50/50 crowd.

Toronto has always loved Hogan. But I believe you are correct.

Was never happening. Hogan didn't want to job to Austin. (Austin didn't really want to job to Hogan, either, but at that stage of their careers, Austin is correct.)

EDIT: I would much prefer a face Hogan vs. heel Austin match if we could get pre-face turn 1996-97 Austin against late-80s Hogan (with Hogan winning). I think that's the most interesting option. We were never getting that by the time 2002 rolled around, anyway.

At least, Toronto booing the Rock at WM18 gave the Rock enough venom to deliver this glorious promo the year later. This is enough proof for me that wrestling fans can be fickle enough.

Wasn't Rock getting Cena type heat around that time as well? I remember he was getting booed big time against Brock and that was not long after Hogan. I remember fans being pretty sick of face Rock before the heel turn mentioned above.

I've been looking for this Stone Cold hat for over a decade and cannot find it anywhere.

It was available on ShopZone back in 2001, but WWE hasn't re-released it or anything since.

I've checked Ebay, Amazon, Austin's website, etc.

Is there some obscure website I could look? Wrestling Reddit offered no help.

Does anyone know what time actual matches start on the preshow? I want to watch both BRs and the 205 match but I don't want two hours of hype before the 7 hour main show starts.

My ticket says the show starts at 5:30pm est. That's probably a fair estimate. The preshow for the network starts at 5, but figure a good 30 mins of talking/video packages.
