How about some ****ing drama? Geezus, I guess that's what we get for face v face main event, arg. Was so setup for Cena to not shake Rock's hand and kick him in the nuts, followed by beating the **** out of him with the belt and a chair, then flipping off the crowd and walking off.

Disagree. WM2 was one of the more entertaining main events IMO. WWF was in a different time where they were featuring larger than life comic book character type wrestlers, and Bundy fit the bill. Plus it was the continuation of SNME.

I can hardly wrap my mind around how he'd have rather done the boxing match than jobbing clean to Hogan, especially given that Piper hasn't been shy about saying how much he hated working with Mr. T.

Yeah, Bundy was fine for that main event. WWF's roster wasn't very strong yet in 1986.

True, but they could have run the Bundy angle from SNME with anyone. Plus, to me it actually felt like a SNME match.

It's so depressing to think that tonight was the re-enactment of Hogan v. Warrior 23 years later. Except that this was legitimately about 1/10 of the match that one was.

Yes, agree that it felt like a SNME match. Felt exactly like one.

And I'm sure keed is right that it wasn't so much a bad decision as it was just them having a really weak roster, but in any case the only thing I liked about it was that they kept it mercifully short.

i mean the match started out of nowhere (literally the only time they didn't use a cena/rock promo video was the ONE appropriate time to do it) and ended out of nowhere

just...wat

Not even the GOAT color commentary from Elvira?

The main even tonight can most accurately be judged by the fact that 30 minutes after it ended, several of us are here discussing who Hogan should have faced in a match 27 years ago.

Elvira was SOOO bad. She had a bit of the Art Donovan unintentional comedy going, but not as good.

If the WWF wanted to put on the biggest mega-match possible that wasn't Hogan/Andre then Hogan/Sammartino might've been the way to go. Sammartino was on the WM2 card in the battle royal.

Yeah exactly this. Promo video after every match then Cena's music just starts up out of nowhere pretty much straight after HHH/Bork. Wtf?

Lol at calling Hogan/Bundy one of the more entertaining WM main events btw.

So who is Cena defending against? Rocky is clearly gone indefinitely now. Lesnar or Punk could do it, but both just lost and the word is that Vince is done with Cena/Punk for now. I think it probably has to be Lesnar again. I don't know who else can step in.

It's a strange feeling watching Dwayne make his rounds postmatch and thinking good riddance. Unquestionably one of my all time favorites growing up and he brought nothing memorable to a 2+ year return. A ****ty run in to finish a mania, two less than mediocre matches with Cena, one less than mediocre match teaming with Cena, and two mediocre at best matches with Punk is what he left us. It sucks.

It's also strange feeling watching the culmination of a two year long story arc - especially considering I'm one of those that bitches nonstop about how they never have any long term plan with their booking - and just thinking thankfully it's over. In theory the story should have been good: Rock costs Cena the title for no reason in the Main Event of Wrestlemania, then after a year long feud Rock beats Cena at the next Wrestlemania, and then finally Cena goes on to beat Rock for the same title that was stolen from him (with some extra greatest-of-the-generation stuff thrown in). It should have been great. It wasn't.

Blah. I'm just so bitter about it right now

seems like as good as any for a (edit: another) pointless cena/ziggler feud
