well in for random assuming no paypal

i dont see a draft system working too well.... probably the top 4 picks win it 95%+ of the time assuming this is done close to rr

You cant really draft the RR with a top heavy payout unless you have a really tiny number of people, like 4 or 5 is probably the cap, with 2 being best. Ignoring rumours and leaks within the forum there has only ever been something like 5 or 6 people talked about as potential winners and a few of those seemed unlikely to me.

However if you are drafting people with the aims of hitting other goals, including the 2 in the random (1st out and last longer) and maybe some others like most eliminations and shortest time in the rumble and have the other goals be worth similar amounts to the drafted winner you can introduce some more value and incentives. But its still probably going to work best with as small a group as you dare have.

Yeah the payouts for draft might have to be altered but not that many people are interested vs. random so we will cross that bridge later.

I could be wrong here, but I was always assuming that we would be drafting numbers (ie positions of the actual entrants as they come in instead of the actual wrestlers). WWE never releases the entire 30 man roster anyways, they always release about 26 or 27 names. There could be some unnamed entrants this year like it was last year Nash and Booker T. Who knows, Jericho might be one of the surprise entrants who can win it all (if he doesn't show up monday). So I think drafting wrestlers wouldn't work.

We are doing two drafts. If you are in the draft its your right to draft people who arent in

re: draft payouts i think it makes sense to do it more like an NCAA pool. e.g. do gradual increases and have it be something like:

1st elimination, longest run, most eliminations, final 4, runner-up, winner. that way there is money to be scooped for people who don't pick first.

(and not sure what wesrwood means by there being 2 drafts, i was under the impression we were just drafting superstars by name and that you could pick anyone you wanted. so if you think David Arquette is going to show up and be in the final 4, go for it! i don' think i am interested in drafting individual numbers.)

You heard it here first. Brock Lesnar is going to be a surprise entrant this year now that he's officially retired from UFC. LOL

draft payout proposal:

1st elimination: 25
longest run: 25
most eliminations: 25
final 4: 25
runner-up: 50 (would also get 25 from final 4 obv for a total of 75)
winner: 75 (same as above, total of 100)

feel free to blow this up if you think it sucks

And we should definitely take alternates in case they expand to 40 or if people bail on paying and have to be ejected So keep expressing interest everyone!

I like that because even if you get someone who obviously isn't winning you still have a shot of winning something from the Final 4, like Santino from last year.

yeah and you can still score decently if you get someone like UNDRAFTED who makes a long run and eliminates 15 people only to get dumped by Hornswoggle in 6th place.

For the random pool are we getting names or numbers?

Personally I think getting numbers would make the sweat thread more exciting because you don't know who you're getting until they come out.

Random is always done via numbers.

Edit, in previous years we have had entrants get two numbers seeded in the first 15 and the last 15 (or 20 and 20 last year) which i generally back but dont have strong objections to not doing. The idea was that you were going to spend a lot of the Rumble having some part of the bet potentially hitting you. Like if you draw a name in the middle of the pack you wont win first elim and you wont win longest run and there is a decent chance you wont win the runner up and winner prizes either.

Yeah I used to do it with a few friends live but now most of them don't watch wrestling any more so they're not really keen on it. Looking forward to sweating it online though.
