I think I'm ordering this tomorrow so I can enjoy it with the wife. 50 in plasma > the computer, despite the $50 price tag.

I'm a little surprised but not disappointed, I'd much rather see Godfather than Hacksaw. Papa Shango would be the nuts tho.

At this point I am not sure what I am more excited for:

1) The actual Rumble and it possibly being entertaining.
2) Sweating/marking out/bitching at Rumble pool entry numbers.
3) The tilt posts in the thread when all of the surprise entries end up being Sgt. Slaughter, Duggan and Billy Gunn.

I think I mentioned it before, but as with Wrestlemania, I'll miss out on the hijinks in this thread as I'll get the late viewing with Big Wally.

If Road Dogg does "Oh you didn't know..." then I am FOR, if he does not; I am AGAINST.

I still don't understand what "for the first time every superstar is eligible" means. They have always had random old school surprise entries and in the Rumble on Str0 right now at least 4 people did double duty with pre-Rumble matches and the Rumble itself. Is this there way of trying to advertise a SUPER SURPRISE entry? WON said it had significance but I can't imagine what it means.

Vincent Kennedy McMahon returns, wins the Rumble.

Unless it leaks i dont think the meaning will be clear until the match itself. But as i said in my theory post its clear it does have some meaning otherwise they wouldnt even mention it (let alone mention it repeatedly).

Why would that need to be setup though? Vince has already wrestled a **** ton and entered Royal Rumbles and won one.

I assume it is their way of saying "expect lots of non-current wrestler surprises" but again that has always been the case so no idea wtf. I guess it could be a superstar from the entertainment industry or something super aids like that. Maybe Shaq?

But then, the thing that gets me is that 'Superstar' has always, always been used instead of 'wrestler' - I've never heard Michael Cole, VKM or anyone else who's not a male in-ring competitor be referred to as a 'Superstar'. I can't think what they're implying by using that phrasing, because surely anyone who's currently a WWE Superstar by that definition wouldn't be a surprise at all.

The more I think about it, the more I think they're gonna have Punk or Bryan enter the Rumble. They might not win it - particularly because as soon as they entered it would just be TOO obvious what was happening - but I really think a title unification match at WM is a possibility.

Of course, it could just lead to HHH entering at number 1 and eliminating everyone, knowing WWE.

i read it as one of 2 things:

-a champion goes in and we get teased of unification

-rock comes in and everyone is shocked but he is eligible omg! (remember leading in to summerslam cena used somewhat similar phrasing when he picked rock as partner)

and yeah i do consider unification actually possible, especially as they are already gonna have 2 main events they perceive as massive (takers last match and dwayne/cena)

and again both of these things were already possible in every other Royal Rumble in history!!!!!!!

i assume it will lead to "something" obviously but the way they are building it is dumb.

Bryan retaining AND cheating his way to win the Rumble would have me marking out for 3 months straight.

nope. Hogan was WWF champ when he won the entire thing in 1990 and Savage was champ in 1989 when he entered.
