It really wasn't too bad of a football game. I could have told you beforehand that the defenses were mostly going to make the offenses look bad a lot of the time.

Anyway, the worst of the Seahawks schedule is behind them now. I see a 10-6 finish. Whether that's enough to make the playoffs, who knows.

Obviously would love to agree with this, but I think the Seahawks are only true championship contenders if they can play their playoff games at home. We'd have to overtake SF for the division title. It can still happen, SF hasn't had to win on the road in division yet either, but it's an uphill climb.

While this Seahawks squad would be a dangerous out for anyone in the playoffs and could pull a road upset, I'd have a hard time seeing them pull two or three. The passing game is just so bad.

Anyway, we'll get a rematch in Seattle in a couple of months. Should be another good one.

Hey PJ, could you bastards come to Seattle for once? Why the **** are we playing in Soldier Field every damn year? Like I can't readily remember a season where we don't play there. This is going to be our fourth game there in three seasons.

Not particularly optimistic about the good guys' chances today, but who the hell knows.

If you lose the division you'll come to Seattle next year (assuming we finish #2 in the division also, which seems a very safe bet now), so there's that.

Obviously I thought we had a better shot when Forte looked like he might not play. This Seahawk team is just night and day between home and away. On the fringes of top five in the league at home (certainly somewhere in the top 10); painfully mediocre on the road. The matchup is favorable enough as far as games against good teams are concerned, but I still can't feel good about it going in.

Anyway, assuming today doesn't see both the Seahawks lose at Chicago and Tampa win at Denver, it won't be any kind of massive disaster and we'll still be in pretty good playoff shape, even if IRM's attempts at handicapping teams' playoff chances is mostly derived from a special blend of (1) brand name and (2) teams that have good fantasy football players on them.

That's a pretty awesome place to be, really. Our core is already really good, and it's really young too, so the window isn't closing anytime soon.

It's going to be such a stomach punch for you if it turns out that we only lent you the division title for a grand total of one season before resuming control.
