I think this is the best thing, the years 2004-2009 were the absolute worst time to be a sports fan for me. The Devils had just come off their last championship and were about to head into a run of awful playoff experiences. The Giants were the nut worst in the NL West, one of the worst divisions in the league, and the Niners were in the middle of a string of head coaches that might possibly be the worst in NFL history. I was pretty convinced during those years that I wouldn't be back, and in fact stopped watching completely for about two seasons.

I mean it's awful that they're there obviously, it has forced me to just completely forsake sports radio in favor of Pandora, but...I know the pain of losing a Super Bowl. If the 49ers can suffer that, then that will go a long way toward healing the wound of having to watch them in it. All is not lost yet.

Oh I think the Niners probably end up winning the game, unfortunately. Probably like a 60/40 split. But that 40% sure would be glorious. Ray Lewis has a chance to equal LeBron James as the greatest anti-hero of this sports generation.

Deserting Cleveland is not a crime at all. "The Decision" was a crime.

Ray Lewis is obviously a worse human being who has committed worse acts, but let's face it, a 49er Super Bowl loss basically would allow him to take a mulligan on his murder.
