Full card for NJPW's 2/10 ppv is out

Nagata/Nakanishi/Tonga/Liger/TM vs Yano/Iizuka/Ishii/YOSHI-HASHI/Jado
KUSHIDA/Shelley vs Romero/Richards
Devitt vsTaguchi
Archer/Smith vs TenKoji
Makabe vs Takahashi
Goto/Inoue vs Saku/Shibata
Nakamura vs Mashimo
Okada vs Suzuki
Tanahashi vs Anderson

This ppv is going to be sick. 4 matches that have the potential to be epics (last 3 and jr. tag) along with what will be a solid under card. Can't wait. Okada vs Suzuki is a dream match for me, just one step down from Okada/Nakamura.

Also at a house show that will come out to video Devitt and Anderson faced Tanahashi and Taguchi. Devitt pinned Tanahashi. Could mean nothing but I'd love to see that match up for the big belt some time soon.

Rocky Romero and Davey Richards vs Alex Shelley and (no idea) sounds like an interesting match.

No idea who else is there.

KUSHIDA is super young with a lot of talent. Has been in NJPW for 2 years now.

Spoiler:
Only two matches in but Player Uno suffers a nasty injury during the match which at first I thought was kayfabe but ended up being very serious. one of my favorite wrestlers.

The RoH 11th Anniversary show was absolutely fantastic, easily the best show I've seen of theirs. American Wolves vs. Forever Hooligans is my favorite match of the year so far (granted it's March 2). The whole card though was top-notch wrestling, and the SCUM angle (which I really haven't kept up on) looks to be great and getting better.

NJPW's ppv from today is already on xwt. Devitt vs Tanahashi is probably going to be fantastic but the rest of the show looks pretty meh. Maybe the Chaos vs Suzuki Gun elimination tag will be good though.

Charlie Haas just tweeted the following:

@CharlieHaas: Officially retired. No match against @Sheltyb803 nxt week NYC. Time to be a full time dad and husband. I've turned my spandex in for scrubs

I was kinda looking forward to this match. Good luck Charlie.

I was in the front row for Charlie Haas' allegedly drunken shoot promo/retirement speech in Asheville.

For what it's worth, I don't think he was drunk. He did do a belly-to-belly superplex during the match, and you couldn't pull that off very drunk.

I don't know what happened between Haas and Kevin Kelly and Delirious, but basically the gist of Charlie's speech was that he loved the fans and the locker room, but he hated Kevin Kelly and Delirious.

And he said he's "on the bad side of 40" and it sucks, and "everything hurts. It hurts when I wipe my ass." And he said he wanted to go be a better dad.

While at the event, I couldn't figure out if it was a shoot or a work. I was right beside Kevin Kelly, who was at an announcing table right beside the ring. When Charile started freelancing, I saw Kevin look back toward some other ROH personnel with a very confused look on his face.

yea, from what i read, it seemed pretty rough. i did not hear anything about him being drunk, but his twitter said he is starting a new career.

Okada vs Tanahashi from this past weekend is on xwt. I just finished it and the match is incredible. That much sucked me in like no other. Possibly the best match since Taker/HBK at WM 25. I didn't think those two would ever top Okada/Naito from last March but they did it. MOTD so far imo.

The whole PPV aside from the Rob Conway match (??!?!) was awesome.

Dragon Gate USA from WM weekend was also fantastic if that is up. Or at least find Ricochet v. Akira Tozawa.

Not sure if that was Okada and Tanahashi's best match but it was amazing. I marked out for Okada kicking out of the double finisher + dragon suplex sequence as I thought the ref had counted 3.

Going in I thought Okada was a lock to win but when he hit the Rainmaker and couldn't cover because of the arm I had a lot of doubts. The way he hit that Rainmaker was just genius after all the fails before that. I also legit thought Tanahashi would tap out to that sick looking submission late in the match when he got close to the ropes but then Okada twisted his neck far to the left to stop him. I (obviously) thought it was miles better than their 6/16 match. I thought their 1/4 match was great as well but not like this.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the show. I also heard there was a nasty injury in the Laughter 7 match.

The full show in on XWT now but it's 10.x gb which is wtf.

It might be better than 1/4 I need to watch it again but both are A+ bordering on S-ranking IMO so it is splitting hairs.

Ha ha ha yeah there is a somewhat gross injury. I am a mark and paid the $25 to watch it live on Mania morning

Just finished Invasion Attack because I forced myself to watch Road to Invasion Attack first and that was worthy of a ppv on it's own.

Matches worth checking out from Road to IA:
MiSu/Takayama vs Yano/Iizuka (I'm not a fan of the latter team but it's a great match)
Tanahashi/BUSHI vs Okada/Gedo
Shelley vs Devitt
KES vs Ishii/Shinskay (wasn't a huge fan of KES before this but I really enjoyed it and see a ton of potential in DBS Jr.)

In Road to IA, I realized that having Okada/Tanahashi in the same ring together right now is exactly how I felt/feel about seeing Rock/Austin in the ring. 2 of the very best (if not the very best) in the business that have a heated rivalry and it feels like a special moment in time.

Invasion Attack:
Loved the brawl that was Yano vs MiSu. Not an epic but a fun war.
Devitt turning on Taguchi was nice. His "bouncer" throws the worst clothesline in wrestling history though, I seriously thought he botched the first one but then he did it again).
Such a shame that Sakuraba got hurt because that match was awesome and had lots of heat. Shibata's actions if not approved by Goto/Nagata were totally unprofessional. I'd love to see Nagata vs either of them. Also waiting to see Nagata vs Fuyuki (sp?) whom he injured at WK 6 (broke his eye socket)
Great ppv and dug everything except the 8 man and CMLL match.

Great looking ppv coming up as well with Okada trying to avenge his February ppv loss to MiSu, Tanahashi/Anderson, and Goto/Shibata should be insanely stiff and fun. Shinskay is set to defend vs somebody that has yet to be determined.

NJPW with a poor ppv outing? Yeah, it happens. I mean how good can it be when your champion gets legit choked out in the main event when it's designed to be a sleeper and he's supposed to have a hot comeback at that very moment?

The Jr tag was good but those are always good and I'm no fan of the Jr division atm. Shinskay had a really poor performance, as did Okada (obviously as mentioned above), Anderson, Tanahashi, and MiSu.

i would not call the NJPW PPV poor by any stretch. by their standards it was below recent shows but it was an average to good wrestling show IMO. certainly still better than most WWE shows.

i agree with Meltzer that the main event was given too much time and they should have cut a match or two and distributed the time among the other matches.

better than wwe but way below average for njpw...that's the problem with setting the bar so high for so long though. next ppv may not be so well either with makabe/okada but maybe okada could pull something out of him. would love to see nakamura/tanahashi to.

tpir did you check out Shibata/Goto from NJPW's June ppv? Quality stuff. Meltzer gave it ****3/4. I wouldn't go quite that far but it was an intense war.

My favorite part of wrestling is coming up...the G-1 Climax tourney. 11 days of sick matches. Day 10 is the most insane card I think I've ever seen:

NJPW, 8/10/13 (TV Asahi ch1 & ch2)
Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan

1. G1 Climax – Block A: Prince Devitt vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr.
2. G1 Climax – Block B: Karl Anderson vs. Yujiro Takahashi
3. G1 Climax – Block A: Satoshi Kojima vs. Lance Archer
4. G1 Climax – Block B: Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Yuji Nagata
5. G1 Climax – Block B: Toru Yano vs. Shelton Benjamin
6. G1 Climax – Block A: Togi Makabe vs. Tomohiro Ishii
7. G1 Climax – Block B: Kota Ibushi vs. Minoru Suzuki
8. G1 Climax – Block A: Hirooki Goto vs. Katsuyori Shibata
9. G1 Climax – Block B: Tetsuya Naito vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
10. G1 Climax – Block A: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada

Those bolded ones are going to rule the universe and even matches 3, 4, and 6 could turn out really really good.

Also on the last day, instead of the usual semi-final then finals they're having another part of the round robin and then the semi-final and finals. 3 matches to be the winner. Going to be so ****ing sick. Hoping to see Nakamura vs Okada in the finals but in reality it will probably be Nakamura vs Tanahashi which is fine I guess since they haven't faced off since September of 2011, just not a fan of Tanahashi winning which will happen if this final happens. Possible Naito will win Block B though and beat Okada to win it then challenge him at the Dome in January.

PWG is always good. Probably the only company that I still go out of my way to make sure and watch their shows. Adam Cole as a heel is awesome. Eddie Edwards and Roddy Strong as a tag team is fantastic. You can tell that the wrestlers enjoy working there. The guys that do both PWG and ROH, they just look happier in PWG in my opinion.
