Yeah I don't really care what Lesnar said or what the original plan was or wasn't, what he did was reckless and indefensible.

Unhappy Re: ***Official Indy/Puro Thread***

Someone on Twitter put up the video from after the Okada/Shibata match where Shibata's trying to get to the locker room. It's 43 seconds long and I got through 20 seconds. It's seriously awful. His entire right side above his waste is jello and he clearly already has paralysis. As a wrestling fan, I feel bad because I don't want these guys to kill themselves to entertain me.

Re: ***Official Indy/Puro Thread***

So apparently Omega/Okada II is happening on 6/11. I know this because there's a thread about it on another wrestling forum. The title and replies of which predict the star rating of the match. 90+% are predicting ****3/4+. How ****ing lame. Also, way to set yourself up for disappointment.

^^ We all knew it was the due to that particular headbutt. We just don't post it, because it's too heartbreaking and a bit NSFW to watch. Heck, the two times I posted the Shibata headbutt to Nakajima, I put it in the spoilers tag.

This is an interesting idea. At the very least it shows a ton of commitment from NJPW to venture into the US.

Re: ***Official Indy/Puro Thread***

^^ I also heard that both IWGP Heavyweight and IC championships are being defended at the Long Beach shows.

I live around 25 minutes away from Long Beach. I just didn't have the money at the time to get tickets and the two shows sold-out pretty fast in a matter of hours (around 6k tickets or so in the two shows).

Re: ***Official Indy/Puro Thread***

No idea on what the most expensive the best seats were, but I heard that the worst seats were around $30 or so.

However, since the shows sold out fast, some tickets are probably up for resale for $100+.

Re: ***Official Indy/Puro Thread***

Found out a few years back this kid Troy I went to high school with was now an Indy professional wrestler performing under the stage name TJ Marconi. Me and a couple buddies always joked about the randomness of it, but at the same time were like 'eh thats kinda cool too though'.

Flash forward a couple years, he's still doing it, and apparently pretty ****ing well, because this Saturday he's wrestling Jack Swagger in the co-main event for SWF wrestling (I have no idea what SWF Wrestling is).

I can't get over this, really ****ing cool. Anyone here know anything about/ever heard of TJ Marconi?

In 7 short hours, it's happening. So hyped that I'm going to watch it live!

Also, KUSHIDA vs. Takahashi and MiSu vs. Goto have me hooked. Cody vs. Elgin has potential to be good. How many times can Roppongi Vice face The Young Bucks? They've had to have faced each other half a dozen times on ppv now. Regardless, it should be good.

For the fun of it, I'm going to predict a 60 minute time limit draw for the main event. I'm also going to predict it isn't as good as the WK match, though that is no bold prediction given how amazing that match was.

I Naito but I'm a Tanahashi mark and really want to see him win. I'd imagine he was booked to win prior to his injury so now it's fun to not knowing who to expect to come out on top.

Gogogo, KUSHIDA and MiSu!

Re: ***Official Indy/Puro Thread***

I got my NJPW world subscription up and yes, I will watch it at midnight PST and stay up throughout the whole thing.

I'm pretty excited. It's in a very nice looking arena (looking to attract roughly 12k people, which is pretty sizable for a NJPW crowd that's not Wrestle Kingdom). It's in Osaka so I expect the crowd will be very enthusiastic at the right matches (they might not like Cody/Elgin since Cody hasn't really set the world on fire in NJPW, but Elgin has been really good in NJPW, so I have hope.) Sure, there's rematches galore, but when the pairings have delivered, I expect the rematches to do well and hope to have some twist and turns and some good unpredictability.

I do actually look forward to the lumberjack match between Goto/Suzuki where Goto will have CHAOS backing him and Suzuki will have his usual Suzuki-Gun henchmen at ringside. It's nice when someone on the opposition has someone on their side to make sure Suzuki-gun scrubs do not ruin the damn matches with their BS. I saw the ending of another lumberjack match from NJPW between Tanahashi/Devitt (Finn Balor) and it had some compelling action at the finish.

I'm hyped for the big matches of course. KUSHIDA/Hiromu, Tanahashi/Naito (especially since I realize now that this feud is pretty similar and compelling as HBK/Jericho in 2008), and of course Omega/Okada II.

Re: ***Official Indy/Puro Thread***

It's very nice being on the west coast (AZ) to be able to stay up for this . No chance I watch in the east.

I had no idea that MiSu/Goto is a lumberjack match. That's pretty intriguing.

re: The crowd: I read that this sold out 12 or 13 days in advance after not selling out last year (Tanahashi was out because of injury) and 2015 that headlined with Okada/AJ sold out at the last minute. Good sign for NJPW. Hopefully this is a strong showing going into that 7/1 Cali show.

Re: ***Official Indy/Puro Thread***

I already miss Shibata

I wonder who he would've faced had he remained healthy. The 3 heavyweight singles belts were set in stone prior to the injury. He'd just be in a random tag match? Seems like bad positioning of Shibata on the 2nd or 3rd biggest show of the year.

I love Rocky so much
