Just saw Ibushi beat Tanahashi today. Block A continues to be absolutely insane (4-way tie with Tanahashi, Naito, Ishii and ZSJ, Ibushi back to within two points of them).

Ishii/Naito was, as expected, a quality watch. Kind of an odd moment late where it looked like Naito hit a Destino but then both guys acted as if Ishii countered (maybe it was the camera angle and I didn't see the counter) and then Ishii took control.

Nah I download them or watch creeks. I used to use it but got over paying for like 10 different services a month.

My best guess is Omega beats Okada, and Naito beats Omega in the final.

We shall see.

IMO anything other than a Naito win ending in his coronation at WK is a gross misuse of the NJPW roster and just downright terrible booking.

Strapping Kenny at Dominion was the time to do it if they were gonna give him a run but they missed their opportunity in favor of OKADADRAWSSLOL so now he seems pretty SOL when it comes to getting a reign.

You spelled Kazuchika Okada wrong.

No I'm with darO on this, anything other than Naito winning is terrible booking. Okada winning as champ is dumb and the Kenny ship has sailed.

Okada's dropkick on Omega at about the 20-minute mark of today's match was the best dropkick I have ever seen. Good God.

(The first of his two late ones.)

I've been super busy lately and have watched only the first four G-1 matches of the first day. I've managed to go unspoiled the entire way. I guess I'll watch the final day since I don't think it's possible to go unspoiled on the winner since I'm sure it'll be in recommended videos on YT. I see from CageMatch that I've missed out on many, many great matches. Gonna watch Tana/Ibushi, Ibushi/Naito, Kenny/Okada, and Kenny/MiSu tonight. Also Omega/Elgin if time permits.

I just finished it. I concur. What a ****ing match. Naito/Omega >>>>>>>>> Okada/Omega. Okada/Omega was a very fun match but as a wrestling fan who enjoys psychology, I thought it was meh. There were more spots that irked me but these two in succession sum it up: Okada hits two Rainmaker's and strolls over to the top rope to rest for no discernible reason other than to not bury his finisher by having Kenny kick out...after that ten seconds of rest Kenny counters a 3rd one and is on offense. Just, why?

Totally agree. It also looks like Okada's shin crushes Omega's face.

The sloppy reverse frankensteiner by Naito on Kenny when countering the OWA was a thing of beauty. That is how you sell fatigue, from both guys.

Seeing Shibata come out was emotional. I just found out what he said: "I'm alive! That is all!". Sad!

edit: Who's ready for Omega vs. Okada IV @ King of Pro Wrestling in October? Okada's gonna have to avenge that loss before heading into the WK main event.

I kinda don't want to see Okada-Omega 4, especially if Okada goes over. But yes, I do believe that is what is coming.

Who does Omega wrestle at Wrestle Kingdom?

Omega should've won at WK or dominion

I guess dominion makes sense since they kept the OWA protected at WK

I mean as a fan I would have liked to see it but from NJPW's point of view, Kenny's booking this year might not have been as bad as I originally thought. Kenny's popularity was huge after WK but Okada has gone on to have a god-tier run as champion and become the true face of NJPW. Omega has been super cryptic about his future and only signed on for one year and NJPW have used him to put over their two biggest locks in Okada and Naito.

This makes sense I wasn't aware omega isn't locked into some longer term arrangement
