That Black/Almas might be a bit low as well. I really like the story of Vega interfering a bunch, Black overcoming all of it, and the interfering costing Almas the match. Vega's a great character.

The ladder match and the unsanctioned match were both amazing and it wouldn't surprise me if they end up being better than anything at Mania, though I hope that isn't the case.

Main event was an instant classic. Ladder match was great as well. I really like the Almas/Vega pairing, they're awesome together. Still not a fan of black though, he does nothing for me. The rest of the matches were all pretty good, really solid card from start to finish. I didn't watch live and fast forwarded through the filler but I can see how the run time would have hurt it a bit.

If AJ and Nak come anywhere close to their match at WK9 then it won't be the case.

Gargano vs. Ciampa was a real triumph and probably the best intentional long-term storytelling I've seen WWE do. Gargano is obviously an amazing babyface, but I give tons of credit to Ciampa for being a true heel. He gets his character over on social media instead of breaking kayfabe and he isn't trying to get himself over with the smarks and get cheered like tons of other NXT heels (like Adam Cole's "baybay" bull****). Him coming out to no music and just the chants of "*******" and "**** you" was one of my favorite wrestling things ever, and it's so great to see a classic heel/babyface story done this well in this stupid Roman Reigns "shades of gray" era.

Meanwhile, I'll probably look stupid in a couple years for saying this, but I think Gargano is on a megastar trajectory. With more and more fans investing in work-rate and characters that seem real, he has like John Cena face of the WWE potential to me.

Ciampa was at Axxess and taking pictures with the crutch in hand and barely smiling at all. He’s the only one that wasn’t breaking character out of everyone I’ve met here. Pretty amazing.

Ladder match was sick, Velveteen Dream is a star.

I can't remember the last time I saw a match that was so classic heel face as Gargano/Ciampa. The pre-match video package was great and got me invested in it as someone who doesn't follow NXT.

Idk if Ciampa coming out to no music is a regular thing for him but that was ****ing great.

Just finished rewatching Johnny/Ciampa. I think the best touch of the whole segment was no music for Ciampa. Feel that hatred from the crowd.

I just started watching this from last night, and as much as I hate the NCT crowd, I must agree that this ladder match is already awesome before it has started

There's a much greater chance that WWE could be great today if they only had one hour of TV to fill per week instead of 5+. I suppose it's possible that HHH and Steph could downsize that third hour of Raw since HHH has said that he thinks the extra hour hurts the product, but I'm guessing they're still filling at least four hours per week forever.
