I've been watching the ancient ECW TV episodes, from before it was Extreme and was still Eastern. Having an announcer in a tuxedo or suit goes a long way towards my enjoyment of a show.

Also, having that person be the most kayfabe guy in the building helps.

Ref is the biggest strongest guy in the ring.

I always thought it was weird they let their refs get jacked or hire large dudes.

Refs should be shrinky Howard Finkle types (I know he wasn't a ref).

Was for me

. I didn't think the UK match was all that great. There's a point in a match where I just say "this is ****ing ridiculously ott and stupid". That match hit that point.
