I haven't been watching NXT lately (SHAME!), but this looks to be a damn good event, on Summerslam eve no less. Preshow at 830pm EST, main card 900pm - 1100pm EST. It also looks like they will be airing this weeks NXT at 700pm EST followed by a 30 minute special on Finn Balor at 800pm EST (lol balor wins?). So there is a lot of opportunity to get caught up on NXT for noobs like myself.

The NXT specials are usually really good. I give this a coinflip odds of being better than Summerslam, and honestly that's probably being generous to Summerslam.

At first I was really confident Finn would retain, but now I'm not so sure. Big weekend for Owens with this match plus the one with Cesaro tomorrow. Can't really see Owens losing both, but I don't know which one he wins. Gun to my head? Finn retains, but I wouldn't feel good about it.

Jushin Thunder Liger (NJPW guest) vs. Tyler Breeze Singles match
Unless they have something really special in mind (like a quasi-NJPW invasion), Breeze has to win here. He needs it badly.

Blake & Murphy (c) vs. The Vaudevillains NXT Tag Team Championship match
Seems like they're teasing having a woman fend off Alexa. Don't know who (maybe Blue Pants?), but I still see Blake & Murphy keeping the titles. The Vaudevillians are certainly a solid tag team, but are they really championship material? Blake & Murphy retain until their next feud with either Enzo and Cass or Jordan and Gable.

Sasha Banks (c) vs. Bayley NXT Women's Championship match
It's been a long time coming, but Bayley finally gets her moment. It'll be a payoff that's well worth it.

Baron Corbin vs. Samoa Joe Singles match
Can't say I really care about this match, but I can't see them bringing in Samoa Joe as this super-big deal guy at the last Takeover and then having him lose to Corbin.

Apollo Crews (debut) vs. Tye Dillinger Singles match
That "Perfect 10" gimmick could definitely work, but for tonight, you're occupying the CJ Parker role.

Haven't watched NXT since the last special but definitely in for this as they always deliver. Looking forward to Sasha vs Bayley since the Divas women always deliver on specials.

1 - Agree. Owens could easily go over Cesaro, but what if he wins the title and tomorrow's match is a defense?

2 - Unfortunately, I think Breeze is their sacrificial lamb. I'd like to see something interesting happen here where it's Breeze vs the Japanese with him being revealed as the one who ran over Itami or whatever happened to him, but maybe Itami helps Liger somehow. Or Liger is revealed to be Itami in a mask?

3 - I really have no use for the current champs, but love heel Alexa. Think they bring in an actual name from the past to help out against Alexa. Maybe Lita for a one night thing?

4 - They set it up for Bayley

5 - This is really the hardest call for me. Seems they're building both guys but I could see them "punishing" the guy they didn't create here? Especially after the Kidd injury? Just sayin' it's a bigger deal for Corbin to win here.

6 - Obvious is obvious here I guess.

On a separate note, anyone know if you can "start from the beginning" mid-show with the live events or is that only for pre-recorded stuff?

All of these people are terrible, even Lita. If it weren't for Byron, I'd say "especially Lita". She basically said she's doing a run-in in the tag title match and given how terrible WWE is, I'm inclined to believe her and that she said it to get people to stay since it will happen.
