Not watching how was nakamura

Aries had most of the offense in the match. He had some really good spots including a vicious Death Valley Driver spot.

Nakamura hit all his standard stuff and did it all well.

Probably 3.5-4 stars or so.

not nakamura/zayn levels, but still very enjoyable

im not really a fan of cage matches, and tbh finn just doesnt do it for me, but i thought that was enjoyable. cool spot at the end

finn jobbing as the demon has to mean he's off to the main roster, right. RIGHT?

I know this forum is sour on Finn, but he usually brings it on the Takeover specials. That was a good, but not great, cage match. 3.75 to 4 stars maybe.

Posting thoughts watching this much later than it aired.

- Why does Ty Dillenger get such a pop? Is it just because the fans like to chant anything?

- Tag team title match is amazing. I don't even know what Gable did with that move off the top rope. A little upset AA lost, but both teams are great. Hope they keep this feud going for a while.

- Paul Ellering = Awesome surprise. Idiot announcer going "who is that?" should have been fired immediately.

- Why don't Japanese people like the letter "U" and why hasn't anyone taken Nakamura's head off when he leans on his opponent?

- Somebody tell this crowd that everything can't be awesome.....but yeah, a lot of it has been.

- Aska is going to be great on the main roster. I hope they never try to make her talk. Her character is very unique and can get over without scripted speeches.

- Bobby Roode!!!!! The most under/mis-used guy in professional wrestling over the last decade.

- A bit surprised Joe went over with no shenanigans, but I guess I didn't expect Balor to win. He has to be headed to the main roster at this point, right?

- I thought I was the only one who really didn't get the whole Balor craze, but I guess not.

- Really enjoyable as most NXT specials have been overall.

Wasn't really sure who to root for between Finn and Joe because the loser probably goes to the main roster, and I really want Joe to get a good run up there before he gets too old.

Asuka is intended to be NXT only according to Meltzer; she isn't going to ever be on the main roster unless plans change. Also, she talked in a promo building to this event and it was great.

I've heard the same thing about Joe, but if Vince sees he can make money with someone, I'd expect them to be on the main roster sooner or later. I wonder why they would pigeon hole themselves like that? Unless the talent wanted it. But why make that determination immediately?

I really enjoyed this show as well, but there was one thing that almost made me throw my remote through the TV. I know I have harped on my pure hatred for the Full Sail audience in past, but someone took it to the next level tonight.

In the first couple minutes, they showed a guy in the crowd with a "We Are Full Sail" sign. Jesus ****ing Christ. Some ******* went to the trouble of making a sign to put him and the rest of the audience over. That is bad on a level only equal to giving yourself a nickname, or wearing a sports jersey with your own name on the back. hint: if you do either of those things, stop. I was hoping they would have shown that douche nozzle again so I could run his face through my imaginary facial recognition software, find out who he is, and then go to his house and snack the crap out of him.

As far as Finn Balor on the main roster, he is scheduled for the UK next week, so I wouldn't look for him Monday, and he is advertised for their run of shows in July. I know that they could just drop him from those shows, but I would think if they are trying to sell tickets using his name, they would follow through with him for the shows. I guess he could straddle both brands like KO did until he makes those dates

Probably a different booking and training plan for someone that is meant to stay at NXT and someone that is getting prepared to work larger crowds and different kinds of promos and live TV etc. Also, if you tell someone they are NXT only, they won't be disappointed when they never end up on the main roster, or start bothering creative and HHH about being called up.

Well said. Great show but that crowd is so painful. I really don't like to **** on people who are just having fun but **** like that sign is hard not to hate on.

I'm tempted often to go on rants on such crowd members, but attention is exactly what they want. If I was a kid today, I'd probably never become a wrestling fan because I wouldn't want to be like these audience members that call attention to themselves.

I agree. When a crowd is into a match, it adds so much to the presentation. Also I usually love the signs that crowd members come up with, so much so, that "Sign of the Night" was an award I handed out in my Mania reviews. But this guy made me want to club a baby seal. He didn't even have a seat opposite the hard camera. His seat was opposite the stage so he had to know he was going to on camera a max of one it two times, if at all.

It comes off as artificial as well. They're looking for every opportunity to chant something rather than the action itself making them want to chant. Just always trying to put themselves over. It feels very much like TNA in the late 2000s.

Balor's promo tonight was agonizing. He just uncomfortably kept repeating the same line until they sent Nakamura out.

Balor should be a heel with that big stupid grin and his trollish nature, but most of the crowd members are heels so it gets everything all twisted.

To be a true heel, they would have to change his theme music. As long as the crowd, and by crowd I'm talking all crowds not just Full Sail, can do the arm thing he will never be fully booed.
