Accurate thread title is accurate. Its the only wrestling I watch outside of ppvs.

Getting caught up this weekend.
Love how the announcers work so hard to put over even the midcard tag matches on NXT. No prattling on endlessly about what happened in the opening segment, what's trending on Twitter, or who the guest host D list celebrity is.
Part of me wants to move to Orlando just so I can go watch the tapings every week for almost no money.

You're probably getting luck on the announcers. While they're better than Cole and JBL, they're still the worst thing about NXT by a long shot.
Alex Riley was so bad during the Balor/Itami match that I think he's been chained up and lot let loose since.

I agree that the announcers aren't very good, and likely their primary advantage over Cole/JBL is just that they're not being distracted into talking about everything but the match while the matches are going on. Just by at least talking about the match and acting like it matters, they're better than Cole/JBL.

The biggest beef with them is that they tend to talk about the wrestlers in the match, but not actually about the match. It's lots of what Albert/Renee/Alex (Graves is great) heard that day or whatever. Not nearly enough focus on the in-ring action.

Seeing a new thread here makes me want to go back and start at the beginning of the year. If I get time, I'm definitely doing this as I watch almost no wrestling nowadays.

I guess Kevin Owens is already the best announcer in the WWE as well now. Absolutely love his character more every week. He's just a family man doing what's necessary in his eyes. The uncomfortable minute at the announce table between him and Riley was great too.
Other thoughts on this week:
- Happy feet (Itami) needs a manager or someone to talk for him.
- Bull Dempsey gets bigger every week. Dude needs to mix in some salads or workout once in a while?
- So that poor guy not only had his partner abandon him, but had to get squashed in a 2nd match immediately after?
- Considering the lack of tag teams, I'm surprised they'd break one up....although they were never a very interesting team to begin with.
- I like the idea of bringing in some older established names to work with the younger guys.

Owens started to learn to speak English listening to Ventura, Heenan, and Gorilla announce matches.

I like Itami as a loner but his character is sort of going no where atm. He would definitely benefit from a manager but so would most of the main roster. They need to find a Japanese Lana.
I like Bull Dempsey. He looks funny but he can work. He could probably do well in Japan with his look and style.
Brian Kendrick is awesome and I'm really hoping that wasn't a one time deal, although I do like the idea of bringing back guys that work well for one time deals to put over NXT talent.

Kendrick was added to the NXT roster on the WWE.com website, so it certainly appears that wasn't a one-off.

Itami sucks, I've given him time but I don't see much of a future for him in the WWE

Despite the fact that I regard Alex Riley as a bum and think that it's terrible that I'm going to have to watch him wrestle again, I will say that the story work he and Owens have done these past two episodes has definitely worked for me.

I'm not how they keep find amusing wrinkles with Tyler Breeze's relatively straightforward character, but him having a selfie stick just slays me for some reason. It's too bad his gimmick would be appreciated by 1% of WWE's nominal audience because he's getting great mileage out of it.

Another great episode this week.
Not completely sold on this Solomon Crowe guy though. Don't really think he should be going over Bull Dempsey yet. And that finisher is up there with the worst I've ever seen.

Solomon Crowe has been pretty bad so far and yeah that finisher is terrible.
Also agree that Riley is a bum but did really well this week. Owens is playing his part so well, the match with Balor is going to be so hype. It's so sick that I'm more interested in something involving Alex Riley over anything at WM.
Charlotte vs Sasha was awesome. Love to see Vince's reaction if someone told him they had a great show close on a women's match.

Not sure what was going on with that Adam Rose match. It was a sloppy match and I guess he was playing the face?
Tyler Breeze has been getting lost in the shuffle lately and that's a shame.
Kevin Owens is such a great heal. I mean I really HATE this guy. Love the story line and don't really hate Riley as much as others seem to yet.
Solomon Crowe looks like the product of a Taz and Hornswaggle union. How did that match end? What did he do, head butt him in the balls?
I know it's storyline, but Emma was never going to get that far in the big show after being stuck with Santino. I know it is a demotion, but did she really have to make it seem like sucked to be back in NXT?
Charlotte vs Sasha is one of the top 5 matches of the year so far I think. Sasha might even be my current favorite wrestler right now. That match looked brutal. They made me believe they were legitimately torturing each other. I'm sad for what's going to happen to them when they get the call up.

NXT makes no bones about being the minor league, despite being the better product. That's why the announcers also talk up the fact that the likes of Kendrick and Rhyno have been coming back around to build themselves back up. I don't really mind what Emma was written to say there...it's not the type of thing that will make people care about NXT less or watch it less.

Actually Rhyno said he came because there was a lot of hype about NXT. Yeah, I don't know if there's a way around it sometimes though.

Right, Rhyno said that but the announcers haven't run with it that way. I just don't see it as harmful I guess.
