Yeah, that and the giant tower of doom were both a bit much for me. But these days matches are more about getting "this is awesome" chants than getting people invested in kayfabe and the outcome.

Now I definitely sound like an old man.

This is one of those things I am torn on. Ricochet doing a double moonsault off the top of the cage is sick as hell.. yet I do agree seeing the group obviously standing around just to take the move safe is lame...

End of the day I do think I am on your side, because yeah kayfabe is annoying

One of the multiman spots where I really can't suspend disbelief and get taken out of matches is where a guy comes up to "powerbomb" multiple people off the top rope. It's done in nearly every multiman match and it's always ******ed. This is what I'm referring to:

Fell asleep at the start of the war games match, shame to hear it wasn't great. Rest of the PPV I really enjoyed. Women's match was a little shenanigans heavy but If we get to see the other two MMA girls starting to get involved in actual matches I'm happy.

Black Gargano was a really great match. Dream v Ciampa was pretty good too.

I think dream is one of the few people on the NXT roster who has a chance of being something special on the main roster. People like Ciampa, Gargano, undisputed era all far too small.

I want to give Kairi more love .

Thinking about her more and she may actually be my favorite wrestler in WWE atm and I've only seen her at Evolution and this NXT show. Her facials, the underdog dynamic, but the way she shows a ton of fire when she knows she's outmatched is amazing. I can do without the Pirate gimmick but once she's in the ring, she's awesome. I need more of her. I have found a megapack of her on a torrent for matches 2014-2017. I will be watching this girl.

I want to tweet "how does it feel to see you portrayed by a black person?" but I'm not that mean. I also don't follow any other wrestlers and don't wanna get blocked by The Hulkster

Remember when the racism scandal first came out and he was retweeting basically every black person who said they supported him? Trolls had some fun with that one.

I'm surprised you were all so down about that last match, it turned into a spot fest when all four people were in the cage but it was action packed enough to be exciting. The only bit I thought was bad was the ~7 person slam thing followed by the stupid flip off the top and that's easily forgiven when the rest was so good.

One of the annoying things WWE does for people that follow closely is that at PPVs they constantly show video packages that summarize the past few weeks of shows.

BUT, for those of us that don't follow closely, these are great for just jumping in and watching a PPV and understanding the stories.
Who hates on the video packages? They are by far the best thing the E does Every month.

So...

Just watched this. Black/Gargano was... interesting.

I can see how it was really really great, but at the same time about 3/4 of it felt like a ballet. I feel like the difference between NXT/minors and the big leagues is the removal of that feeling.

I'm not sure what you mean, are you trying to say that WWE feels more real? I think at its best it can but at the same time at its best NXT does that too and a lot more regularly.

My experience of wrestling is very limited to watching casually as a kid in the early to mid 2000s (8-14ish) to the past couple of years getting back into it but in that time the best matches I've watched are NXT matches and they happen a lot more often. WWE has had some great matches too and some really great moments just less.

Today shows my issue with NXT, I'm as hype about the product as I'm going to be after a great PPV and nothing really happens apart from a fairly average match.

Still pretty far behind on my NXT. Just now watching Rick O'Shea vs Pete Dunne from about two months ago. Holy crap, this was good. Imagine Raw allowing them to do something like this. Wanna let WWE know NXT is the only reason I keep the network these days, even if it takes me like two months to watch it.

NXT is still far and away the most entertaining weekly programming on right now.

The final promo segment this week was incredibly engaging.

On a more negative note, The Forgotten Sons are absolutely terrible. Jesus they're bad. Not even sure what exactly their gimmick is supposed to be. Those Mexican dudes they faced were really cool though.

Still about a month and a half behind, but holy crap do I hate Matt Riddle. How is this guy a face?

I've never seen this guy, but based on this post I'm absolutely assuming that I'm on OneOut's side.

I know we all have a wrestler that we just don't get even though everyone else seems to love them. WALTER is that guy for me. I watched his match vs Osprey and he's just some slow, lumbering dude that chops people and doesn't sell. It's like watching Kozlov again.

Awesome music and trench coat though

Yeah, Riddle is a total goof. I think he's very bad. Pretty much everyone with indie cred who gets pushed gets over at Full Sail, but I don't see much of a main roster ceiling for that gimmick, and I'm skeptical he can pull off anything else.

A lot of the recent NXT signees (Keith Lee is also in this boat) do nothing for me, so hopefully they improve or the current mainstays like Gargano/Ciampa/Dream/etc stick around forever.

Riddle having legit UFC cred will be a boon on the main roster. He'll be fine.

Nice to see the Forgotten Sons have their first match that didn't make my eyes bleed, but goddamn I think have the second worst gimmick in NXT history. I just cringe every time one of them says "forgotten no more".

Also I think Montez Ford could have cleared four ropes with that dive to the outside.

I read the spoilers for this set of tapings. Some of it looks pretty damn good but lots of filler too. I didn't realize it was on tonight though . I think Kairi was on (?) so I'll be checking it out

Catching up on NXT:

Last week's episode was fantastic. Drew Gulak did more for Matt Riddle in one match than Kassius Ohno did in an entire feud. Also the six-woman tag match was solid, with some great storytelling between Belair and Sharai.

This week's episode was horrendous. WTF were they doing?

- First they have two heels fight. At least I thought Dijakovic was a heel. Maybe not.

- Then they do this overbooked mess with Ohno and Lee in the middle of a tag team entrance. After the match (where I thought that one dude broke his neck on that suplex), more overbooked nonsense with all of the tag teams getting together for no reason. I like Aichner and Barthel, but they should be nowhere near a title shot now. And the Street Profits just lost to the Forgotten Sons. What the hell was going on here?

- Next, two heel women fight. A third, unrelated heel, helps one of them win. Then three more heels come down and beat them all up. This is one of the most mindboggling pieces of booking I've ever seen.

- Last was Cole/Ricochet. Match was fine, but has Adam Cole done anything besides that one North American title win in the ladder match? Not sure what they're trying to do with him.
