I can't argue that stuff like this isn't better:

But I don't think he's been all bad since then:

I'm only on page one of that thread, but I liked this part a lot.

Raw was so damn boring. Is anybody else tired of HHH and the others coming at and talking the same boring **** every Monday night? Give me a break.
Now, I know that HHH was probably the GOAT worker during 2000-knee injury in 2001, but man, most of his opening segments of Raw were the same, heck I'm sure we're going to get something like that at No Way Out, when HHH makes his PPV promo.

Man, after reading a few pages of that thread, I've starting to realize that we're one bitter motherf*kers. I really fear for the future here and wonder what would happen 10 years later? Would we look back to this period of 2010-2012 and actually see the beauty and the unhidden greatness of the product at that time?

Yeah the threads from the attitude era bashing the product are so amazing. Everyone should check them out.

To be fair, the Attitude Era is wildly overrated, especially considering that it's the era in which 90% of good booking was eternally destroyed.

Lots of great stuff in it though obviously.

Yeah, I understand that, but still, the IWC just loves to complain about anything in the current product in any period. I even found a post where the people of the past actually complained about the Radicals. I can understand about Dean and Perry Saturn, but they had the nerve, the nerve I say, to bi*ch about Benoit and Guerrero. Haters is gonna hate, but still.

You know what could be an interesting idea. Maybe we should do like a time capsule full of posts and thoughts about today's product that highlight our personas of this time period and see how people of the future will react in a decade. I might guarantee that people of that time period is going to bi*ch about their product and somehow appreciate the product at this time period.

In 10 years there will be a lot of love for John Cena for a very simple reason, all those John Cena kids with all his gear on that you see on every Raw will start posting on the internet. In 10 years there will be people posting who are kids now and love everything about the WWE.

Agree with this, people just like to complain. They do today, they did 15 years ago and they will in 15 years. They will love good old Cena and hate most people on the current program.

here's the thing, and though i keep hoping it'll change it'll always be an undeniable truth: we're watching a kids show

it doesn't really make sense given the violence and occasional sexual themes but the show is designed for children first. that we hate main event faces is hardly surprising when looking at it from that perspective. children aren't supposed to be looking up to people who are basically dicks (see: good punk). faces have to be to relatable/likable to children and that isn't achieved by being arrested development, it's achievable by being two and a half men, focusing on juvenile humor like fart jokes and ridiculous name calling. underutilized cult hero punk was arrested development. 2nd face of the company is two and a half men. but it is what it is i guess and it's not likely to ever change as long as the key demographic is 10 year olds

This, to me, is very much an oversimplification that doesn't accurately address what goes on.

If you don't think that people would much rather watch shows they loved basically every week, you're crazy. There's a reason that the Mad Men thread is busier than the <insert horrible show here> thread. Wrestling takes on a different form because we both remember a better time and we see glimpses of greatness right now. We know it can get there. It's the perpetual disappointment that drives the complaining. It's that we keep getting our hopes up.

Boiling it down to "people like to complain" really does imply that people would rather have a certain percentage of the shows suck rather than having it all be awesome. And I just can't see how that's true.

Well, I'm sure that people just hate him because of the fact of the perception that he is well boring, and of his size he just looks too small like DB, but of course, I know that in any given moment, those guys would kick my ass and do it in a slow and torturous manner, but some people don't understand that, and they're the ones that might get their assed kicked by him for not knowing these kind of things.

I mean Eddie Guerrero was two inches shorter than Deano Machino. Obviously I realize that Eddie had a significant charisma advantage, but dubious that it would be a size thing.

All right, I'm searching through that thread and here's what one idiot thought about the Radicals in that time period. I'm putting this in spoilers though, because this is unwarranted somewhat.

Spoiler:
Case 1: Eddie Guerrero

Appearance: Long haired hippy freak, greasy looking, needs a bath and a
shave.

Attitude: Backstabber, ******* and general all around not nice guy

Finisher Moves: WOW! A FLYING DIVE! I'VE NEVER SEEN ONE OF THEM
BEFORE......OH WAIT! YES I HAVE! AND I'VE SEEN IT DONE PROPERLY TOO!

Case 2: Perry Saturn

Appearance: Reject from a Popeye cartoon (possibly Bluto's brother?)

Attitude: Attitudeless, has no vocal skills apparently......

Finisher Moves: Very little skill, and the Rings Of Saturn, despite being
painful, would make it impossible to tap out due to the position of the
arms.

Case 3: Dean Malenko

Appearance: Child in a small man's body.....

Attitude: Almost an X-Pac in the land of the giants

Finisher Moves: Your average Texas Cloverleaf, done many times by me in
pretend wrestling matches, not a big deal, not too painful and faintly
resembles a Sharpshooter.

Case 4: Chris Benoit

Appearance: Scruff, homeless person, hobo, whatever you want to call them.

Attitude: "I'm the best ever!" (Though he's failed to prove it so far)

Finisher Moves: Crippler Crossface.........hahahahah, less painful than a
cocktail stick in the ass. I dared my mate to put me in it and 5 seconds
later I'd flipped him forward, locked him in an armbar and he was screaming
in agony.

Therefore my case study is complete, and the Radical's have been proved to
be useless, and from now on shall be known as The Craps (TM) All rights
reserved....blah blah blah......

Anywho, back to the PPV. I'm sure this is just going to be a typical PPV, some pretty decent stuff from what you would expect and maybe unexpect and then we have the Cena main event, which is either hit or miss.

I'm going to go ahead and post this incase the WWE title match doesn't turn out good:

Is it just me thinking too much, or did WWE basically telegraph the finish to the Cena/Show match Monday?

Show held his foot off the steps after exiting and then stepped down to beat Kofi. I bet he does the same thing Sunday, but this time, turns back, and then gets Tebowed and loses.

I personally like to see Cena near victory and then show just crashes the opposite side of hte cage to go through it like a monster and wins.

Well we don't necessarily know that he's talking about the WWE title match. It could be something stupid like Cena gets fired then comes back Monday like he always does.

That and things change constantly right before the show, so whatever awful idea they had in mind might change and Undertaker might not turn out to be the Eggman.
