The quick turnaround to another PPV seemed built for that. Drake cutting promos for weeks with the wrecked voicebox, and then obviously goes over at the PPV. That's fully blown off now. Obviously I'll be forgiving of it if they have a more interesting direction for him to go for the PPV.
Regardless, I should clarify that I was perhaps a bigger fan of the episode than the totality of my remarks might suggest. I've just taken to blogging as it goes, and while I do stand by my various criticisms, none of them were killing my viewing experience, and it did feel like this show was better than the sum of its parts.
Shoutout to Stu Bennett, who has quickly convinced me that the Cornette ouster may have been a blessing in disguise in the long run as long as the NWA didn't take too drastic of a short-term hit. Still a Cornette fan, but Bennett is very much up for the job.
