Watched Part 1 of the season finale last night knowing nothing about it other than seeing it listed on demand and seeing this thread. Have to say I really liked the wrestling, but I don't know how much I'm for the other stuff with the acting and believers and power stones, however the wrestling is so good I won't try to dwell on that part so much.

My favorite parts of the first hour were the stunner spot in the first match, the crazy leap off the platform, and the one hot girl licking the other hot girl in the face.

Surprised how much I liked this and look forward to the final 2 hours.

Also, about a second season, I had read somewhere that netflix was potentially taking a look at this. That would be pretty awesome.

Watching the finale without seeing anything else seems strange to me. The backstory is way more important than in WWE in my opinion.

Yes, can someone explain the powerstones to me? I don't get it? I do like the "mob" type ceo character though; that is one awesome idea. It feels like you are watching a high production tv show with wrestling moving the story along. This is so unique and so well done.

I guess it's sort of like the urn from 1990s Undertaker.

There's a quick backstory here:

That's a perfect description of it.

Cueto is a gold mine. He loves chaos, and shows no favorites in the process.

at first I thought this was super corny but the more I think about it.. I kind of like this as well. I am ok with them sprinkling in some fantasy stuff to the story considering this is more like a story with wrestling moving the story along as apposed to wrestling with story moving the wrestling along.

Snippet from an interview -

Lucha Underground producer Eric Van Wagenen was a guest on this week's episode of the Wrestling Compadres podcast and spoke about a potential second season for the show. Van Wagenen calls in around the 13-minute mark. He said:

"I can tell you with almost full certainty that it is going to happen. The when and the where is all dependent on our ability to raise enough money to keep the production standards the same.

We are all very committed to keeping Lucha Underground the best looking, most innovative and most creative wrestling product out there. Sometimes it comes at a price. Vignettes, editing, they're not cheap. El Rey is a great network to work with, they just can't justify spending the kind of money that you would get form much bigger cable channel.

We are looking for alternative ways to raise money, whether that's a secondary broadcast network, steaming services. We know there's a #NetflixNeedsLucha hashtag going around that's gaining traction. We are looking at all of our options and that will determine the when and the where. There is talk of moving to a cheaper location. If I were to guess, I would say we would be back on the air by January..."

Everybody who is involved in the show is committed to keeping it on the air, but we are committed to keeping THIS show on the air. We don't want to dumb it down, we don't want to cheapen it. We have a great creative team in place, we want to keep everybody doing exactly what it is we've done in season 1, so we're just working out the details."

Vampiro vs. Pentagon Jr. was brutal. I've been influenced so much by the current rated G-PG product of WWE for so long that it was really a shock to my system. I don't know if I even like it, lol.

So much blood, and I'm guessing it all came the hard way. Also, when Del Rio through Mundo through the glass. I thought that was even a spot for a ton of fake blood, but I was wondering if that was real. Yeah definitely a shock to my sensitive self, lol.

Vampiro is on the latest episode of The Steve Austin Show. Apparently, they've even cut stuff out like Vampiro getting curb-stomped on the thumbtacks. And he wanted to get hit in the temple area because it bleeds good. Crazy sh*t...

A+ hardcore match!

Wow, that's ****ed up.

I'm not a big fan of the light tubes, but everything else was great. Hardcore is good if there's a good reason for it.

I've heard that a fair amount of the matches on LU are edited (they do a damn good job of covering that up if it's true). I wonder if they'll ever release unedited footage of matches.

Whatever money they get should go to those editors, because the story they tell and the way they tell it is spectacular. It seems like sometimes they see the 1 hr time limit as a challenge, not as a hindrance.

I'm probably going to give this a shot when I'm bored or maybe when a WWE ppv is going and it's not the main event . It has a 9.3 on IMDB and 9.2 as a promotion on Cagematch.net.

Good first show. Ending reminded me a lot of an Attitude Era Raw (in a good way).

Just total craziness in the last 60 seconds. Can't remember the last time raw went off the air and left me wanting more.

Also can't remember the last time there was 3 people in the ring at the same time who all mattered

only thing I didn't like was

Spoiler:
champ was booked too weak for my tastes

I get why WWE doesn't do this style (no way could you do it every day all year) but you'd think they'd get better ratings if they had a few guys do it on raw (you don't have to do it on house shows/smackdown anyway).

The editing is great as always though; I appreciate it at least.

Also with the ending, there's a fourth guy who can matter in that picture who wasn't a part of it. Pretty slick. WWE would never be smart enough to think of anything close to that.
