That is legit a negative star match and whoever came up with the idea of it - from the red lighting to the finisher spam to the goldberg era no selling to the giant mallet and everything in between - should be out of a job.
Oh wow I hadn't even seen the end of the match when I wrote that. This is "Cena and Ryback Last Man Standing match ends in a no contest because Cena couldn't get up to continue" levels of awful.
That was my least favorite WWE PPV in a long time.
I normally have at least some positives about an event but this was just garbage. The end of the hell in a cell match - which was awful to begin with - was calling for the bell because Seth hit him with a sledgehammer. Who put this together?
I didn't find the whole PPV horrible since I thought Becky/Sasha was one of the best matches of the year. That main event could go down in history though -- they might have just killed two of their top acts at once. I'm curious to see if they can salvage anything from that.
I never liked HIAC as a PPV concept anyways, but they've completely killed it with back-to-back nonsense finishes in a structure that is supposed to provide closure to feuds.
Thought the PPV was fine really, started very good, most of the middle was fine too, don't like some of the booking but the draft will be a bit of a reset anyway so that'll mix up the feuds.
Main event like that is always going to leave a sour taste because it was arguably the worst WWE match I've ever seen. It's a shame it'll over-shadow what was a very good womens HIAC match.
