I'm not changing my avatar, but I admire the spirit.

Based on what Corgan and Borash have said, I'd expect TNA to do more stuff like this. Most of the props were just laying around the Hardy properties when they started to work on this, including the giant symbol and the dilapidated boat.

Corgan has claimed many times that he is looking for something different in an attempt to bring wrestling's popularity back up to where it was; he doesn't want to keep doing what wrestling has been doing the last decade or so that has made it a niche product.

I'm not as into the intentional b-movie aspect of it, but the idea of more pre-recorded content with higher production value and flair is definitely something WWE should look into. Anything to break up the monotony of these long wrestling shows is worth considering.

I think you're right. The only thing missing from making this the best thing ever was a drunken Ric Flair.

yuupppp

Probably would suck for the live crowd, relatively speaking, to throw it to a 15 minute prerecorded promo whatever, but too bad really (or, accurately, "this is why MORE live programming isn't necessarily a great idea"). I'd rather they spend a day and a half distilling some Divas confrontation into the best 15 minutes than watch five minutes of attempted promo.

I'm really not sure exactly why I enjoyed this so much but it was great and I want more.

The intentional b-movie aspect is what makes it work imo - Matt Hardy delivers a bunch of funny lines I particularly like "it's an extraordinary xylophone" it cracked me up that one.

I think a wwe version of this, which would most likely be cena or reigns trying to overcome the odds minus the comedy, would be absolutely terrible tbh

hopefully TNA looks at all this new publicity they're getting and makes all their programming this insane

This needs to be done for every rich wrestler's house. Just go there and put together the best cluster of props and scenes with what is there already.

If WWE did these, they shouldn't be on live shows where you have a paying audience that expects to see live action, but rather network specials.

The thing is, where the WWE is really struggling is with TV ratings and creating new fans. The Network is doing better than anything; what they put on there is already drawing existing fans.

Considering the current ratings you have an interesting definition of 'drawing'.

Not sure where you got the information that the WWE Network is getting bad ratings.

I misread the original as 'what they're putting on TV is drawing ratings'.

I suck at making gifs and resizing them but I would be forever grateful if someone here could make me one from 0:42-0:46 secs and loop it.

It's pretty small but here's an attempt.

It says the remote file is too large.

I'm assuming that means it's probably too wide but more than likely I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks for trying.

Yeah I just tried and it said the file limit is 250kb which is going to make it tough. I'll try something out.

I've thought about it for a good five minutes and I really just have no idea how they did this. Whoever wrote this line/bit is a true genius and should be writing all the SL's for WWE. Might be able to make RR look passable on the mic.

Apparently the majority of it was Jeremy Borash's idea. He wrote and directed it while the Hardys adlibbed a lot. If you had asked me I would have said it had Billy Corgan all over it but nope.
