This thread will work as follows:

- Each day I will post 2 new matchups from the bracket.

- Voting for each match will be open for 3 days

- To vote, BOLD the name of the match you want to win. Example: HBK/Angle. I will be using a vote counter for this thread, so while I did it by hand in the nomination thread and counted everything, in this only the BOLD names will count.

- At the end of the 3 days, whichever match has more votes will advance. In event of a tie, the higher seed wins. In event of tie still, random.org will be used.


- I will just be posting the NAME of the matches without a write up for these rounds. If you would like, feel free to post a link, give a write up for your match of choice, etc. All of these have been chosen by us, so I think rather than have me write a few sentences on every match getting someone passionate about that match to give their take would provide better content (also I'm lazy). This will likely change as the tournament progresses.

Both matches breezed through the first round with victories of 9-1 and 7-2 respectively.

This matchup should prove to be one of the more interesting ones of the round. An all-time Classic or a recent match that restored interest in the product ? A singles match or a gimmicky match? Flair's closing promo or Punk's pipe bomb? Whichever you choose you can't be wrong.






28. Bret Hart vs Mr. Perfect (c), IC championship @ Summerslam 1991

Bret vs Perfect defeated another iteration of itself in round one 7-2 while HBK/Mankind took down Edge & Christian vs the Dudleyz vs the Hardys at WM 2000 in a tough 7-5 vote.

While the first matchup of the day highlights differences between matchups in this tournament, the second match of the day highlights similarities. Two extremely well worked matches with some of the best talents the business has ever seen delivered with their in ring work and match psychology.

Bret vs Austin was the only match in the round of 32 to sweep its opponent as it advanced 12-0 over Rey vs Eddie. Razor and HBK beat HBK/HHH/Benoit by a score of 6-3 to advance.

The tag team match was ranked 2nd in the nomination process and advanced through the round of 32 against Rollins/Cena/Lesnar by a score of 7-4. The Chi-Town Rumble defeated Kurt Angle vs Shane McMahon by a score of 6-2 to get here.

I need to rewatch the tag match. I recall the tag match crowd being incredible which really boosted it up but my initial reaction is chi town not close.
