Fantasy Wrestling Season 1 - Draft and Scoring Thread Fantasy Wrestling Season 1 - Draft and Scoring Thread

Welcome to season 1 of fantasy wrestling! The first season will run from September 1st until the end of the TLC PPV on December 16th. The off-season will then last two weeks ready for season 2 at the start of January.

Here is the scoring system for season one:

PPV:
Win by pinfall/submission/gimmick match - 20
Win by DQ/count out - 10
Draw/no contest - 5

TV:
Win by pinfall/submission/gimmick match - 10
Win by DQ/count out - 5
Draw/no contest - 3

Plus appearance points (main event in brackets - final match only):
PPV - 20 (30)
RAW - 10 (15)
Smackdown/Impact - 6 (10)
Other - 3 (no extra for main event)

-PPV pre-show matches will be treated as regular PPV matches
-NXT will NOT be included, as NXT Wrestling is now the WWE developmental territory.
-I think grouping all PPVs together is the way to go but I'm open to upping the appearance score if people want.
-Must compete in a match to get appearance points.

Titles (win/defence):
WWE Championship - 100/20
World Heavyweight Championship - 75/15
Intercontinental Championship - 50/10
United States Championship - 50/10
Tag Team Championship - 35/7
Divas Championship - 25/5

TNA World Heavyweight Championship - 75/15
X Division Championship - 35/10
Television Championship - 35/7
World Tag Team Championship - 35/7
Women's Knockout Championship - 25/5
Knockouts Tag Team Championship - 20/4

Plus 10 points for appearing in any World title match and 5 points for appearing in any other title match.

I'm going to add a rule that all transactions (trades and "waivers") must be made on a Sunday. This time period will last all day Sunday (EST) unless there is a PPV that day, in which case it will end one hour before the start of the PPV.

The first draft will be ABBABAB and we will each draft ten wrestlers. You may draft absolutely anybody but will only gain points if that person wrestles in WWE or TNA during the season. You can at any time drop one of your wrestlers and pick up a free agent. You can make trades with other teams but can not go above or below ten wrestlers. From season 2 onwards, all drafts will be regular snake with the first round order being the reversed order of the standings for the previous season. You can keep up to three of your wrestlers (this can be increased if people want) but can NOT keep your top scorer.

Draft Order:
LKJ
Wallypop
DWetzel
dnkyhunter
Dylan E08
Dylan
Judy
Trade OC
El Kabong
teejayC

(I didn't cheat, honest).

LKJ is on the clock but the official clock won't start until tomorrow. I'd like to get through this fairly quick so there will be a three hour deadline with a dead zone of 12am-8am EST. It is not mandatory but I ask that after picking you PM the person after you, especially in the first round. Obviously writeups aren't really required here but entrance music would still be good, and maybe a pic if you're feeling particularly productive.

Spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...wV0M5ZGc#gid=0

(I feel like I've missed a bunch of stuff so feel free to point anything out that isn't clear)

Btw I will be going off tapings results. So if something was taped before September 1st but not shown until after it will not be included. I will probably use profightdb for results. Scores will be revealed on Sundays. On PPV days this will either be after the PPV or Monday morning, depending on whether I stay up for the PPV or not.

I'm in Australia so obviously my timezone might become a problem. Some leeway on it would be nice but if not I have no problem giving up my spot to an alternate if it's going to cause some problems/frustration.

Oh, ok. I'm not in EST either but I assumed everyone else was. I tell you what...

There will be NO clock until Monday morning at the earliest. At this point I will see where we are in the draft and assess whether we need to introduce a clock or not. Hopefully everyone will draft pretty quickly anyway.

FYI, spreadsheet is access required. I don't know if that's intentional or not. Sent a "let me in" request.

Should have done a qualifying SHEEP tournament, imo.

Yea i think we should've done something to make the draft order. I'm not just saying that due to I got a crappy pick, but ya know, I'm cool with it either way.....Hope this league works out

To be clear, the categories stack onto each other to compile points?

Like a successful PPV title defense of the WWE title is 40 points (20 points for PPV win + 20 points for successful WWE title defense)?

Actually you would get 60 points in this case. 20 for PPV appearance, 20 for PPV win, 20 for title defence. You would get an extra 10 points if it was the main event of the PPV.

Edit - Plus another 10 points for being in a world title match.

Good thing I asked. I was glossing over the main event part and it was actually going to change my pick. Pick incoming.

For Raw are we saying the last match is the Main event right?

#1 overall pick

Spoiler:

I love the smugly contemptuous look on his face in that picture.

I was going to go another direction - you undoubtedly know which one - but the fact that Cena almost never goes on anything but last is enough that I'm pretty sure he has to be #1.

Spoiler:
Roster:
John Cena

Yes. (I realise that occasionally the main event is a promo, meaning the last match might not be the real main event, but I'm trying to keep things simple so those will still count as main events.)

I'm going to go with the man guaranteed to consistently get me a high number of points:

Spoiler:

God I hate Sheamus, but he's pretty much guarantee to main event every Smackdown, get himself a couple of more title defenses, and he'll appear on every PPV for the next 4 months. I honestly don't think there is a better pick available here, and yes, I do know who is available.

Spoiler:
Roster:
Sheamus

There really are a fair number of Smackdowns where Sheamus wrestles early in the show. But yeah he does basically nothing but win.

Actually, what do people think about just doing a random drafting order each time? It would prevent possible angle shooting of people trying to finish last to get the first pick.

I think random is cool, or the previous idea of doing a sheep and having the order determined by that is also a good one.

Do a draft lottery or something, if you must -- a random order is too... random. I see the point about tanking, but then again it is a keeper setup too, so there's actually an element of strategy to that.
