I literally just dont see how Henry vs Bryan is the logical end point at WM when if he isnt holding the title its basically 100% certain Bryan is facing Big Show who i assume is just being kept as an out of control tweener unless they plan on having a double turn (which i seriously doubt).

Fwiw im not sure Bryan can "work a great match" with either of them under the current booking paradigm. Make it a no DQ and let Bryan be ROH-style aggressive and we could have a shockingly awesome match though imo.

But i think Sheamus vs Bryan could easily be the match of the night even without my dream finish that mirrors Austin vs Bret where Sheamus passes out in the LaBell instead of tapping or something more or less identical to the go home that Nigel McGuinness and Bryan did in Unified which i drafted yesterday where Sheamus would fight out of the LaBell but then be put in a crusifix and then take 20+ elbow strikes to the head to KO him.

Sheamus has shown he can show weakness at this point in his career (i swear he ends up as HHH2.0 in a few years), the big striker vs the small technician is a classic pairing that is hard to screw up and the dynamics of the two gimmicks play off each other great as we saw on Smackdown yesterday. Them not doing that match at WM is pure idiocy, but we find out tomorrow night i guess.

Having anyone else than Bryan win will make it tough for him to really get over imo. The EC would be the perfect time for him to legitimately destroy someone and get over as a credible talent, but unfortunately I think it's way more likely that he somehow steals a victory (again). I just think that gimmick will get worn out very quickly and it will be tough for him to remain in the main event picture once he loses the title.

I realize that Edge made that gimmick work for quite some time, but he already had a very impressive career before.

The thing that tipped Edge over the top with a similar gimmick was that he was proven that he can get it done when he had to, something they havent shown with Bryan yet.

Having Bryan steal a win again in some way then pick apart Sheamus at WM or just look dominating at the EC and then lose in a close match to Sheamus would legitimise him in his first reign imo. I think overall its been more successful than Punk's first reign though and i assume he will be bouncing around the main events for a long time provided he stays healthy and keeps over like he is getting now. They certainly never hired him to be an upper midcarder.

If Santino can pull the upset this weekend, he will become the newest member of the exclusive WWE Triple Crown Club.

Only thing bad about HBK in this match are his poopy tights with wang emblem.

And Kane, Booker *and* RVD are all somehow good.

It's an odd thing, I watched wrestling from the late 80's until the early 2000's, and from the first time I saw RVD I really liked him. It was around the time of that Chamber that I stopped watching for a few years, and when I come back I discover that the whole IWC completely detests HHH and RVD.

Well, it didn't take me long to understand the HHH hate (and to join it), but given that I basically haven't seen anything of his that happened since that Chamber, what exactly caused everyone to start hating on Van Dam?

Isn't he basically the ECW version of Rey Mysterio? Not sure his progression in ECW but his character never really changed much in WWE, and he's a bit of a spot monkey. Didn't help that the one time he gets pushed to the moon, he pulls an Evan Bourne and never comes back from it.

I'm only just realizing that this PPV is actually tonight. That's kind of an exciting realization, while also being a reflection of how poorly they've hyped this thing. Maybe an assist to the Rumble being so bad that I was de-conditioned from looking forward to a PPV throughout a weekend.

Yeah, not excitted about this at all. But Christian and Big Johnny tweets helped abit. So there's some hope it will not be as bad as it looks on paper.

Ive read an interesting theory just now i hadnt really considered.

Ziggler over in the Raw match to face Sheamus, Bryan over in the Smackdown match to face Orton and Jericho and Punk face each other with the title not being involved.

Tbh i think some of the names arent the most likely as i think Bryan vs Orton vs Show is the logical Smackdown end point if they go this way and i just cant see Ziggler vs Sheamus happening for some reason, but its a line of thought that i could see them going down.

Jericho or Punk have to go in to WM as the champ, otherwise what's the point of being "best in the world" if you can even fight over the strap that's supposed to mean exactly that?
Elimination Chamber PPV Discusion Thread Quote

Yeah, that was my initial thought, but having Punk GTS Jericho to pin him, then have Jericho give Punk a long beatdown before being taken out of the cage then Ziggler gets the pin on him, then have Jericho get Punk DQed in his rematch on Raw then the scenario is set where neither are shown to not be the best in the world and they dont need the title as part of that feud.

Ive not decided whether i like the theory but i can see ways they can book around it to make it work. The big flaw isnt Jericho vs Punk being non-title but that there isnt really anyone who makes sense to win the title if Punk or Jericho doesnt. Though having Kofi pull another Kofi and thus have him replaced by Big Show who goes nuts after failing to win the title again does create a scenario i could get behind.

Jericho or Punk is going to win the Raw chamber and Bryan is going to win the SD chamber, they aren't going to do any crazy swerves.

Given there are only 4 matches booked i suspect there is going to be a lot of video packages like at the RR

Presumably we should get a Sheamus match somewhere on the card though ive no clue who against and i expect there will be a tag match hastily thrown on too.

I want to see Henry murder Khali or Santino to get himself on the card too, i dont really see how they can do anything but that at this point.

I think that by saying this you have singlehandedly changed the outcome of both matches. Thanks a lot, Dylan.
